So when playing CoD WaW either freezetag server or DM many times i click and a shot is fired yet nothing seems to hit even if target is close and not moving. Is that just the game, my gun, or actual mouse somehow. I have tried different mice and some work better but i just cant get comfortable with those mice.

I have noticed my mouse is kind of jerky and some lag lately.  I've tried other settings too and its the same.  Who knows.  Maybe the weather 🙂 .   I may update my drivers and see if it helps.

I have that problem on COD2. It seems like my actions at times are a half second behind what I am putting in.  A few months ago I had to clean out my game and reload it.  Cleaned out every file that was associated with it and started from scratch.  I have my original disc.  Once reloaded and set up again the problem went away for awhile, but now is slowly coming back again.  It seems to happen for periods of time during play per each map then goes away for a little while to. I have gone into control panel and cannot not find anything running that might cause it.  It would be great to figure out what’s going on

Mine is usually bouncing around about 20 points when it does it some times.  Not consistent.  It will run from my usual 98 up 120 or so.

During this cold snap, my ping has been jumping around with accompanying lag.

@bds1961Question for you is are you using DX9 or DX7...Cod2 prefers DX7 over DX9...

The other things you can do is make sure electric/power cables are moved away from input cables...

Next make sure your drivers are up to date and make sure your game display setting match that of your desktop settings...

There is also a hidden game mode which you can find by searching "Game Mode Settings" on your Windows search bar and give a exception or turn off...Mine is set to off

The most common over looked thing is a build up of dust in your Pc which causes heat spikes

Finally you could do a "tracecert" with Command Prompts to see if you are bottling in Network or some where between you and the Server you are playing on which is most common

Finally you could try a Game booster there are many out there and truth be told I have not used one since Our competitive gaming days of beating other Clans asses 🙂 Basically it dedicates your Pc to gaming when turned on and it will prevent other programs from sniffing for updates and such

Nah Im always in the 40's.   Its lag, but, not the normal lag one would experience with server or node issues.  Mine is more a control issue.
