Anyone else have the card model and experience issues with vram leaks or crashes and just inconsistent gameplay overall? Mine always has and I hoped updates overtime would fix it but no. Debating on going back to nvidia and get the rtx 5060ti 16gb or rtx 5070.

Have you tried uninstalling the AMD Adrenalin App and keeping drivers only? That's what solved the crashes for a lot of people.

My graphics card was crashing (3070ti) I tried everything I could think of without sucsess.

I then did quite a bit of googling and found that PSU connections had a tendency of breaking down with these cards, I found one of my modular connections had got hot and spread out.

It was on the PSU side, So I cleaned and tightened up the connections and not had an issue since.

So I would definitly advise checking all power connections

When software doesn't fix it, its always hardware. I have an AMD 6750XT, I upgraded my 1070Ti after the longest time. I grew tired of NVIDIA's driver issues. AMD's driver stack has always been much stable for me, YMMV. Make sure to do a clean uninstall.

Yeah and even done fresh reinstall of windows. Might go back to windows 10 and see how it does. I just can’t seem to have any luck with PCs working right. Always something wrong.

Maybe the issue is you, LMAO.

Have you got Resizable BAR(nvidia) or Smart Access Memory(AMD) enabled in your bios?

Hmmmm...some mobos that have a ssd slot near the CPU(that if used) will reduce the Primary graphics slot from a x16 to a x8 slot....this was primarily on the (x)690 chipset...at least with intel...not sure about AMD. Kind of obscure, but that may be your issue?

i did and the rtx 4070 msi card started going bad and got the rx 7700xt to replace it.

side issue. When i try to cap the fps in config it always caps higher than what i put and that varies on what i try to cap to. If i cap at 180 to match refreshrate it goes to near 200. this is setting value in config file.

That is definitely weird...sounds like something external at that point...or you're very unlucky...

/cg_drawfps 1  shows 200fps while playing in-game and you've capped the framerate using /com_maxfps 180? or does your monitor have a framerate counter overlay?

G-sync/FreeSync enabled, correct? That ‘should’ lock your monitors refresh rate to your fps. You could also try to enable vertical sync in your graphics card app, or “sync every frame” in CoD4…although that may cause other issues…generally advised not to turn those 2 on…

did you use a GPU drive cleaner befor install new card Note: back-up your data on the OS drive before using.

  Win 11 24H2 have installed  KB5058499

I'm with Trotty on power  connections  check them very good  for seen melted molex connectors from poor contact of connection end making heat when under load.

image.thumb.png.838b53e4146194479d64cddf44c82c1d.png

First of all, you should make sure that your PSU can power the new GPU. When buying the adapter, you should always buy a good quality one. The good quality ones usually have 18 AWG, UL 1007 insulated wires. You can recognize them by the markings on the wires itself. Avoid adapters with blank wires since they are very cheaply made with very thin wires that are not capable of transferring so much current and they can easily melt. Good quality adapters are rated for max 120 W and this rating should not be exceeded. You could probably go a little bit over but at your own risk. If the cables are getting hot (so hot that you can not hold the wires with your fingers and you start to smell burning plastic) during the full load you should replace your PSU. If the wires are getting warm only, that should be fine since insulation is rated for 80 degrees Celsius. Do not bundle adapter cables, instead try to spread them away from each other for improved cooling, and in case of melting and failure of one or more cables, they would not touch and cause a short circuit. Also MOLEX end of the adapter should be inserted correctly in the female end. MOLEX ends should slide easily, which means that all MOLEX pins are inserted into collars correctly. If they are not aligned correctly with collars, they can be pushed back from their mounts making bad contact. After connecting MOLEX always push in individual wires to make sure that they are inserted all the way in. And that should be it, note if can pull wire out of its place means the lock isn't working and needs to be re-arched to make connection with lock.

As you see the melted pins were not fully incerted. good practice to push all connectors (metal) after mating the plug for the cheap vendors build crap wires.

Note: with no power to PSU
