    You may be screwed. Microsoft stopped supporting XP a while ago. If you have a working version of XP I would just use it as is and forget any updates. If you know anybody with a fully updated version of XP they could copy the updates to a flash drive for you to use. A few years from now some will be asking the same question about Windows 8 and 10. This is how a monopoly forces you to buy new products, kind of like what Apple does to their users every 2-3 years on phones, tablets and computers.
