  1. I like the look of customisation in the MP game. I wonder how often I'll be shot whilst I examine a downed player's designs on the weapon next to him!
  2. Loaded up MOH for the first time tonight - had a bit of a laugh! Managed to crash a quad bike into a waiting team member and that stalled the game somewhat... The special forces missions in single player look a lot like COD MW2 in places. I have taken time out from a hell of a firefight in which Taliban appear like on a conveyor belt and rain RPGs down. I've heard single player is short - don't know how much play time remains. I'll be looking forward to the new CoD Black Ops for sure.
  3. (Dedicated to all my wonderful friends on the CoD5 servers...) A grenade from my Springfield is best, said Beers as he lectured the rest, But the range is a puzzle as often the muzzle Fires into the ground What a mess! UnChileno was sniping one day As he sat on a stacked pile of hay "Bastardo!", he cried, as he suddenly died... The keg's knife had come into play! Mazdarati was prone in the pass Playing freezetag with a custom class When Magnus did spot her, he aimed and shot her! Oh my, what a pain in the neck... Mikey Junior was up on a roof He's a very adventurous youth! Damit1 on the scene, Emptied his magazine Now young Mikey's in bits - how uncouth! TSW Eight Point Five Could 've made Nine if he'd still been alive But he pointed his gun At a superior One And there was no chance that he could survive! AH1 is an asshole, they say Having chosen that handle one day But I cannot think That fine gentleman would sink To choosing his anus to play!
  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HARRY!
  5. Added to Xfire friends - hope to see him aboard soon!
  6. It was a late bedtime here as I watched the last of the miners rescued. I concur with Shamu - Chile managed to do what the UN has tried to do and failed repeatedly. All nationalities everywhere wished and prayed for this outcome and God was merciful and generous. True joy here, Chile! And, as for the scenes on the street, now we have an idea what it would look like if Chile ever won the World Cup! The Chilean people should be proud of their miners and those who enabled their rescue. They deserve to party on for some time yet!
  7. Bush', I am always amazed at the apparent ready access to detailed information that dates back to the 18th Century. From our previous discussions, you'll know I have an interest in genealogy though I haven't devoted immense amounts of time to it for various reasons. One is cost - research over here and provision of copies of documents can be expensive over time. Another is that there was no national registration of births, marriages or deaths till the early 19th Century - everything was recorded at parish level, so, though more records are being digitised as time goes on, it is often difficult/impossible to go back pre-1830s. Your ancestors' lives were adventurous indeed. If I could probe back beyond our Industrial Revolution, I suspect I would find lowly farm labourers in East Anglia - so the uncorroborated information suggests to date. How long did your research take or is it still ongoing?
  8. Job done! They're all out! What an achievement!
  9. Performer Nicci Miles has recorded and released a song dedicated to our troops. Proceeds from its sale are being split between two armed forces charities - 'Support Our Soldiers' and 'Help For Heroes'. The track - 'Please Hold On' - is available for download at Amazon and iTunes. Here's her music video:
  10. Yeah but what you didn't mention is that this is college-level material over here...
  11. Do you like fast food? "Sally Davies bought a McDonald's Happy Meal on April 26, 2010. She placed it on her coffee table, uncovered, and took photos every day for six months. This video shows the results, which are quite scary." http://gizmodo.com/5662271/watch-six-months-of-a-happy-meals-eternal-life Makes me relieved I am not a customer of this chain!
  12. Keep your eyes (and ears) open for these next time you're in the mall... Read the story at: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/8061119/Man-builds-worlds-fastest-mobility-scooter.html
  13. As mentioned by Errol Barnett on CNN, here's the link to the photo stream on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rescatemineros/ 11 of the 33 have now been rescued!
  14. They're doing a great job getting these guys out. I noticed on a news report that a cluster of mobile buildings has been established on site for medical examinations after rescue but the Chilean authorities seem to have slipped up as there was no bar and giant barbecue. Maybe the big party will be held off-site when the last man is up?
  15. It's fantastic! Praise and thank the Lord! I'm following progress via the BBC here and so far nine have been rescued. What a day for these miners and their families!
  16. Yes,Milky, come over to CoD5 and spend some time in the company of our amiable H-ADM UnChileno. If you can sniff out his sweet sniping spots and ambush him with flame, explosives or, best of all, the knife, you will make an impression (and make the rest of us laugh, of course ). He may get you more often, though...
  17. ph4nt0m Love that tune, it was on the sound track to snatch too, I'm sure I have it on a compilation disc somewhere but went off and downloaded a remastered MP3 to stick it on the iPod.
  18. Olive Just tell me these guys don't come to work for Air France-KLM when they end their service...
  19. Enjoy! These people can fly! (Can anyone identify the music track for me, please?) (PS: I found it: Angel by Massive Attack.)
  20. Well, I never knew being an Idiot would be so educational... My wife had relatives in Canada but I did not know that Thanksgiving was celebrated there. Have an enjoyable day, everyone! (We Brits have to wait till 25 December for our turkey!)
  21. Sorry if this is too obvious but...eBay (UK)? I see there are several 160GB drives on there but no exact matches that I can see at the moment. Good luck!
  22. That bastard would be in a coq au vin if he did that here!
  23. This never gets old... For fans of classic military aircraft:
  24. UnChileno Im a roofer and a hopper...I can make that jump.. But do you check every roof you get onto in case someone is already up there with a knife??
  25. Happy Birthday to all those celebrating today. Two deserve special mention IMHO: Mikey1799 = 40! Welcome to middle age, bro! It's all downhill from here! Excustodychimp = 50! Five decades, half a century! That's a lot of years whichever way you say it! Anyway, I hope you all have a real blast of a day in the company of your loved ones. Enjoy!
