I think the title Socialist Country is misused for the most part. Some countries, like China, (see the bottom quote) might be worded as a Socialist Country, but in my mind it is plain and simple Communist / Dictatorship - like. When I think of real, working, functioning well Socialist Countries, I think of ones that are based on Capitalism yet with a wide range of social programs. The list below of countries, THOSE are what I think of as the real McCoy of Socialist Countries. These countries below are the best examples of what some folks think of by the term Socialist Countries, which I disagree - nope they are Communist - Dictatorship - like imho. 2 more cents tossed in.

Dude, "Socialism" isn't the problem, bad management is. From my research about British Healthcare, it seems that it is quite simply vastly underfunded. What the world needs is great leaders, with compassion, intelligence, education, wisdom and common sense. Kids need to be raised with the education of different societies and governments and hash out the pros and cons of each, the dangers and past mistakes, history is so very important to understand as tragically, it does repeat itself over and over and over again. Greed and selfishness and all those "evil" traits in an ideology/leader are what get everyone eventually suffering and miserable. Please note who the happiest folks on earth are, they live in "Socialist" countries. Hmmm just think of it, being "happy"... what a concept. 2 cents

Who all has been following the Iceland volcanos?
Majbasil replied to BigPapaDean's topic in General Discussion
If it is real news, I follow it. Yes, this whole Icelandic volcano action stuff is crazy crazy. Years ago, I was a little girl who found herself in a little plane flying around Iceland, above a new volcano and it scared me so much, I was convinced that the volcano was going to "burp" up lava and kill us all in that little plane. And, I do worry about all the "tourists" standing imho too close to the lava / volcano situation. Things happen unexpectedly, nature is like that. Do I worry MORE about super volcanos? That all this volcanic activity lately will awaken one or more of the Earth's super volcanos? KInda... I wonder though if due to the climate changes ( melting ice, altering land mass weight, disruption of the inner core distribution, wobbling / shifting of the North and South Poles) have alot to do with this current situation, which then gets me wondering if yes then oops for the next say 200 years. Just thinking out blog. -
Nice, see you in the maps!

NIce, I remember your original name, and like your current name. Howdy

What a surprise, you never posted your hello or photo before after all these years? HOWDY

OH dear, so so sorry about all this mess you have been dealing with. Yikes some folks can be really horrible human beings. Here is what I have to say: 1. Condoms, condoms, condoms, do not trust that someone "new" says they are on the pill or whatever, keep yourself safe from lots of trouble. 2. Date all you want, but if/when you find that special person you adore, who adores you and who you both decide to have a family and be a family with - THEN you marry her. After your "honeymoon phase" and you know you both want a family, THEN you go for it. A guy can be a happy great dad at any age, so don't feel like you are in a hurry. It is the female, to be honest, that has a clock. I think, for example, George Cluny, age 60 or so, is a happy dad, with a wonderful wife who adores him and they both wanted a family, I think she is in her 40's. 3. You are a young one. You have lots of time. 4. At least for me, being a parent is the best thing ever. But to have to deal with it as a single parent situation, that would suck and be really, really hard - having to give up your child a lot and not able to be there full time, that would be heart breaking. Aim for NOT that. I hope any of that motherly advice helps dear one. Bee yourself, and bee happy!

The American Conservative mindset is that the USPS should be privatized. Efforts have been ongoing to dismantle the USPS. The current head of the USPS is doing all he can to have the USPS dismantled. I have had so many issues lately with USPS, everyone seems to. I believe the USPS is important for a healthy society and in part is the center of all towns around the country. LONG LIVE THE USPS. Vote wisely folks, pay attention to the news, follow the money, who benefits, who suffers, ask why, when and what for. https://www.epi.org/publication/the-war-against-the-postal-service/

The Battle of Bastogne - Then and Now (Powerful Video)
Majbasil replied to loaderXI's topic in General Discussion
That generation of soldiers did not talk about their times there, and now most of them are gone. World War 2 was the definitive good vs evil war. And yet there are always similar local battles of good vs evil. Humans are the most dangerous species on earth. World War 2 shows the devastation, horror, pain, grief, suffering and overall waste of what can happen when we humans have bad leaders. My wish is that we DO learn from past mistakes, that we not let petty hate and fear of the difference in us, along with greed of the few in charge, take over and ruin things, as it does over and over and over. Let us be wise and good and kind and thoughtful. Amen -
my kids are obsessed with overwatch. from time to time they get me in there playing. but for me, I am not into "fantasy" games so much. (that being said, I am obsessed with Horizon Zero Dawn https://www.ign.com/articles/2017/04/10/why-horizon-zero-dawn-is-so-addictive , and am looking forward to the 2nd release this year. ) if I play overwatch, I play as "basil", but it is very rare only when my kids bribe me to play.

AstraZenecz/Covidshield What Is Your Expierence?
Majbasil replied to WeednFeed's topic in General Discussion
My dad had covid, had the Pfiser shots later, all with NO SIDEFFECTS, nothing. So, I kinda thought it would be the same for me as we have the same blood type and I am very much like him. Sure enough, I had two moderna shots, no problems, A OK. But now my sister got covid, was horrible for her but not ER horrible. Then, with both her moderna shots later, she had horrible times, sick in bed, bad fevers, very bad. She has a different blood type than me and my dad. So, here is the thing - my point is this - COVID SUCKS. Avoid it, prevent it, wear masks, help others and yourself. Take the shot, whichever you can get asap. Plan for the worst, hope for the best. We all have to do our part in this global pandemic to make it stop and ineffective. And yes, as weed and feed wrote about the future, this time frame will be in the history books like the global pandemic of the 1918ish is. https://www.history.com/topics/world-war-i/1918-flu-pandemic As for results from this pandemic, I think and wonder if it is changing the way folks work, the way folks socialize, many things will probably be different now. For one thing, all of us are now much, much, much more accustomed to wearing masks, and it is not so strange to see someone in a mask. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cloth-face-cover-guidance.html And as a fashion statement, masks have added another opportunity for bling accessorizing to our wardrobes (hehe) Now get back in those maps silly soldiers! https://www.livescience.com/ways-covid-19-changed-the-world-2020.html -
WOW bummer!!! Get better soon!
-
Oh boo hoo, folks complaining about wearing masks... O M G are you kidding me? What about this global pandemic don't you understand? If only we all had been smart enough to wear masks when this first started 1) We'd be like New Zealand (with hardly any of the virus anywhere in their country and they can live normally with no economic issues 2) 500,000 folks in the USA, for example, would so far STILL BE ALIVE! 3) the strains and mutating of this virus from hell going on would have been stopped/prevented. What a mess we have now. But alas, no, we are a species who "knows better" and yet not yet "knows better." 2 freaking cents tossed in And to those of you who have lost loved ones, and to those of you too afraid to go out of your house cause you have pre-existing conditions or have loved ones or friends or co-workers or neighbors or fellow human beings with pre-existing conditions and you understand the dangers and consequences of how this virus works and spreads, to those of you who go out every day, wearing your masks and trying so hard to prevent getting it, spreading it, bless you!!! And may this global pandemic end soon! AMEN! OOOOO was that out blog? Grrrrr https://www.movehub.com/blog/best-and-worst-covid-responses/ Now off to get my masks, car keys and get back to work. then see you wackadoos in the maps ---> Let me at em, let me at em

Rock and Roll!

Hey, I don't know what you are going thru or feeling, but sounds like you are a bit depressed? Have you tried any of those anti-depressants? (Prozac, for example) Some folks have less serotonin in their brains, some have a lot more, I think Goldie Hawn is famous for having a lot of serotonin, making her basically happy thru life. Heck everyone should have the ability to be happy thru life, right? So having a med that will up the serotonin that might do the trick. Also, changing things up - a move to a new place or new town or new career, a new hobby, follow your bliss, learn a new topic that interests you. Gosh this world is so fascinating and there is so much out there to wonder about. ANYHOW, here is a link about depression and meds --> https://www.brainfacts.org/diseases-and-disorders/mental-health/2019/rethinking-serotonins-role-in-depression-030819 hope that helps, feel happier Springtime is such a pretty time of year.

They opened it up in some counties around me to anyone age 16 and up, so off we went to a nearby county and I had my first Moderna shot... Later on, and the day after major gardening, digging up old bushes, planting new ones, lugging mulch, dirt, etc. no problems, not even a sore arm. EASY PEASY... Then my sister, who had COVID last year had the first shot and was in bed for two days, migraine from hell, awful. So I think, shesh, did the nurse actually give me the vaccine? Where is any side effect? The needle did hurt a bit as she didn't pinch my arm like you are supposed to nowadays to prevent any pain from needle insert, so I must have been given the vaccine... So next month, when I get my 2nd shot, I have heard such tales of woe that now I worry about that. But here's what I say, NO MATTER WHAT, WORTH IT!!! 2 cents --> we all need to do our part to try to end this COVID pandemic, it worked in the past for stuff like Smallpox, Polio, Rubella... But that 2nd shot... not going to plan anything for a couple of days after that 2nd shot. And Wardogs, you get sick alot I think. You best be taking that vaccine asap you germ magnet you!

My introduction for myself as BlownAwayByLewinski
Majbasil replied to BlownAwaybyLewinski's topic in Introductions
OK here is the thing. Your name is way too long, I noticed someone called you Lewie, and that is a perfect gaming name, easy to say, funny, and don't think anyone else has that name on this clan website? If you play COD (Freeze-tag) what other names have you played as? If not, get in the game man, that is where the fun action is. -

Bazza, Yack plays as Piglo too, he loves his pig lo (ve) and you insulted his pig, so you better apologize, let him kill you 3 times in game might do the trick. I think that is what he was talking about. Meanwhile, GAME ON!
