You need to be more specific. When does it happen? I mean do you find patterns where you try to open or close an application and this occurs. If it is happening all the time, randomly with all apps, then I would suggest you reformat and re-install. The reason I suggest this potentially drastic approach is that windows explorer is the heart of all Windows Operating systems, and it will not get better (unless it is specifically happening when you perform a certain task. In that case post, and we can recommend a fix).

I went to both sites and I cannot find any diagnostics too0l that looks for and fixes this problem. I tried the "cmd" thing and on Windows 7 the selection that is given does not include the one inn the direction on the website Wildbill referred me to. I tried just about everything and nothing worked. Sux Tzu posted a fix to some BO problems. I went through the list just like he posted and for some reason it fixed Window Explorer problem. I don't know why, but it helped. http://www.xtremeidiots.com/fora_topic.asp?tid=14418 It has only happened to me once in the last two weeks. In TS3 my mic would stay open. I had to restart to get to my rcon. After I played the game it always did it and now it never does. So this helped, might be something in there that someone can figure out why this worked. Good luck Awards

Are you sure you got rid of AVG completly ? The other thing that comes to mind is a missing or corupted file. You can run a repair with your Windows 7 disk and that should repair any damaged files on your system. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html See if that helps you out Awards
