Sounds like the scores need to be tweaked to whatever is usually expected for the server. But in contrast to the workplace everyone gets the same score for the same actions and there is no cronyism in the mod. Funny enough, some modders have asked how to set it so their clan members have access to better weapons and such that regular players cant get. That aint the case here. :welcome:

i know you work very hard on these servers and you do a very good job at keeping them running, but the chicago server is a mess at present. everybody has complaint about the weapons deletions as you have . most want the acr bushmaster , i want my saw back and others want a varity of others as well. please restore the weapons menu as it was and just add a few weapons as well. another problem is that it is kicking you with file sum errors. its evident that you have your work cut out for you.

Don't mean to even try to speak for Sammy but I believe that:

 

1) There are only so many weapon slots etc. One new one means an old one has to go. And I'm ok with the new weapons myself.

2) The file/sum mismatch items are server config/map issues (in other words, Not Sammy's fault)

Correct, the mod is maxed out on weapons. Hbar will remain since the class needed a more unique custom weapon and it was either the saw or rpd. The majority prefers the rpd. ACR was overpowered in that it was acting like a full auto m16 with only minor kick and recoil. So the choice was to change the weapon so it is really no different than the Scar-h or make it unique. The class was missing a 3-burst weapon anyways so we chose the latter. There are 4 other full auto rifles to choose from and that should be plenty.

 

Mismatch errors will depend on the map and sometimes points to compatibility issues between map and mod. We do our best to make sure they all play nice but sometimes its just not possible. If when it happens plz post the map name so I can check it out. If you see one that says something about not loading an xmodel for index somenumber it is related to the mapper putting in heli or airstrike weapon pickups into the map.

I haven't read back through all of the pages of this, so I don't know if this has already been discussed. I won't normally complain about things that are not actually errors and such, but the timing on bringing up your weapon after you become visible, is too long. So many times I try to pull up my gun, and am long gone before it hardly even shows on screen let alone be able to pull the trigger. I can understand it shouldn't be instant as that would be an unfair advantage, but, at the moment, it's an unfair advantage for them to see you so long before you're able to fight back.

And also thanks for all the hard work put into these mods on our servers, you make them so much more fun.

Yes, it has. Raise time is balanced per the type of weapon. smg's/shottys are obviously the fastest followed by ar's, snipers, and lmgs. Spawn protection is meant for you to go find some cover. If you are shot before your weapon raises then you are not doing that. Certainly some maps dont offer much protection however so it is more difficult.

 

Since this server + gametype is set up for spawn trapping you should plan on being shot. Instead of the usual 'get out of spawn' find cover for 4 or 5 seconds and throw novagas on your spawn area to help the next player before you are. He should outfit himself with tacmask so he can stand inside of it protected and maybe throw 3x nuke-frags. When your gas starts to disapate he can throw another one at his feet or on your spawn area again. Unless they have tacmask they are not going to run into it looking for you. No guarantee but could be more effective than the constant spawn-run-die. Who knows, you might get 3 kills and an RC.

 

That is why you have 10 classes. To make up a couple specialties that you might only use a couple times in a game.

I didn't realize the time was different for certain weapons, this was something I had just started noticing the last couple weeks. It seemed that raise time used to be shorter, but I did start using a different weapon as well.

Sammy u were on the other day when i pick up somebodys mk14 with a acog ans a silincer on it . how can somebody do this ? i tryed to but cant ? any insight to this or did someone find a glich to gets this done ?

the gun was great by the way maybe we can have it as a choose ?

You picked up an m21 scoped with silencer. The m14/m21 acog+silencer combination doesnt exist and there is no weapon file for it.

 

For first raise weapon time some examples:

m4 -> 0.85 seconds.

L118 (or m40a3) -> 0.9 seconds.

rpd -> 1.25 seconds.

mp5 -> 0.67 seconds.

I'm gonna search through this thread, right after I make this post.. :harhar:

 

BUT.. twice tonight the whole server full of peeps was kicked for the '128 bones' error. First on mp_gb_port_b1, and also on the next map mp_gb_sharqi. God, I hate that. Really dampens an otherwise lively game.

 

I believe I've read before about it being some glitch with a killstreak weapon, like airstrike or heli, on some maps. Is there any chance of getting a list of those 'some' maps so I can keep them out of rotation? It's weird, cause we used to play Sharqi plenty with no problems.

EDIT: LOL.. well, it's been talked about in this thread a lot. Just to be clear, EVERYONE gets kicked out at the same time.. not just one or two people. Next time it happens I will make a screen shot.

Yes when going through the posts you will probably see me say 100 times that the cause is the ACR world model has too many tags. Seems people forget or dont care that it causes the problem and use it anyways. Fixed in the Chi mod. Only happens in Marines vs Opfor games. :hrhr:

 

edit: The other one you speak of was probably about a missing player tag which was related to the heli minigunner. Havent seen that in many months.

i got a problem with the rc car and the freaking emp grenade..

 

 

ok i got jammed...fine with that but when someone trows a emp grenade it kicks me back. cool and probably the right thing but when i'm being kicked back to my position i get stuck. everytime!

Do you activate crouched or prone with something over your head? If so dont do that. When you get sent back you get stuck in walls and such. In the future if you try to do this you will get a message telling you to move to somplace you can stand. You dont have to stand at that spot you just have to be able to.

being stuck in a roof or in a wall doesn't happen anymore...think you changed the box?

 

but the problem is...when my car is being jammed and the enemy trows a emp at the car it kicks me out. think this is normal..but whats not normal is that when i'm kicked out of the car i get stuck. cant move neither with the keyboard or with the mouse. cant shoot.....

 

just standing there in the open waiting to get shot. most of the time begging the enemy to get shot. :D :D

I have had the same issue. Only one time when the original emp thrower was killed then I was able to move. Weird ???? Ruthless and I have had this issue numerous times.
