I know we have all tried to put this right in the past and i have spent hours and hours searching for the right answer." I don't think there is one" But can somebody who is a whizzkid at computers have the answer. I dont mean plug this mic in here, change your sound drivers, change this file to this name etc," I mean a real answer" so this does'nt bother all who have theses issues. Is there a real fix?

I have spent a lot of time the past week or so setting up my new rig. I have started fresh right from the start but for some reason what pops up the dreaded error again.

Can somebody help in destroying this painful error from happening on our servers.

There is no real solution. It's like a game in itself trying to figure out how to stop it one machine at a time.

There is a great soloution and I've mention it often. Get a soundcard do not use the motherboard sound if it use,s via or realtec chip sets.. And use a USB mic. Problem solved.

this may sound stupid but what I have done after having the problem and by chance having all backed up on a slave drive I simply went into back up pulled the Iw3mp.exe and replaced the 1 in there and all fixed.....So maybe upload this file via Xfire ?....This was before I even knew of the unplug your head set trick or replace sound card

Hi drunksniper

first option :

For any voice features (since I'm no sound expert, I know unfortunately nothing at all accurate about it) Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare requires the enabled stereo mix.

To enable you to go with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP, follow these steps.

1.Klickt with the right mouse button in the lower right corner of the screen on the speaker icon.

2.In the context menu that appears, select your "recording devices" and click on it.

3.Es opens a window "Sound" with the Settings tab "Recording". Now click somewhere within that tab with the right mouse button and select "Show Disabled Devices"

4.You should point the "Stereo Mix" will appear in the tab. Click with the right mouse button and select "Enable"

second option :

If you use x-fire, maybe your problem is connected with this.

The same thing happens to me too often.

It has even happened that all my directx files were destroyed.

If I then shot in COD4 with the Dessert Eagle, listened to it as if to throw peas in a tin can.

After a long search I've only found these possibilities.

- Use no X-FIRE.

or:

- If you install the game then go to your installation folder and copy the multiplayer exe and store them where from different.

If the current exe no longer works, delete them and copy back the saved exe in the installation folder. What you can then do so every time when the exe stops working.

I hope this helps a little bit .
