I wish phone number management was just like IP management. What I've done with IP management and my own software is block all countries that I don't do business with. Doing so eliminated 99% of the scams via email. I used it to protect all my servers too, not just email. I built the software to protect website's that offer live services for say like a online support center or local restaurant.

I can't stand scammers!

Yes that is just one of many scams....Here in the uk they also phone and say they are your internet provider and that there systems have detected a virus and its part of the service to remove it, we at Virgin have had loads of our elderly customers fall for it..

I would personally like to hunt down these Animals and shove their pc's right where the sun does not shine followed by my BOOT to make sure it is well and truly up there :realmad:  :realmad:  :realmad: :realmad:  :realmad:  :realmad:  :realmad:  :realmad:

@@MrBubbles if you use VoIP you can manage Phone numbers. My ISP offers his DSL and phone bundles only with Voice over IP. And i am happy about that. I have running an Asterisk to manage my VoIP Calls. Works great :-)

My router (AVM Fritz!Box) is also able to block unknown callers or single numbers.

I like to play with them for a little bit, Then I tell them I don't own a computer. I do feel sorry for those that fall prey to them.

I got the call today too. I let them go through the whole routine. I followed their every word, pretending I was interested while I sat in my recliner. Told them my computer was on and even said I was at their url. They hung up when I said "Hey Vinny, do you have the fix on their location yet?" I didn't even get the chance to finish what I was going to say next and invite them to join the Xtreme Idiot clan, geeesh how rude!

I got the call today saying they were Microsoft and wanted to ask me some questions about my computer...

I also get calls at work all the time from "Customer Service".  They want the number off the front of the copier.  When I say "if you are from customer service you know the number on the front of the copier" they hang up.  If you give it to them they send you all kinds of supplies and nice bill to go along with it.  What a scam!!! Why can't someone catch these creeps????

Well don't forget....now here's another one , I got an email looking like it was from paypal... but it was not!

If it doesn't state your name on it ie: Hello yourname, then its a scam and don't click on any of the links either!

Paypal said they don't have your name, so don't respond to it, check your account online to be sure no one has charged stuff

to your account... it made me feel better anyway :)
