Why's he going down there?  Warrants out for him?  He knows the place is full of snakes, spiders and Aussies, doesn't he?!

It is mandatory to play cricket, utter the exclamation "Strewth!" frequently, refer to the ladies as "Sheilas" and drink copious

quantities of fizzy stuff like (but not identical to) beer out of silly glasses called schooners that aren't even a pint!  Oh, if the

crocs don't bite lumps out of you, the sharks will and there's a tiny jellyfish that causes instant death!

OK, it beats me why the Brits planted a flag there too! ;)

Heard rumors they have a blind snake there that crawls up into your nasal cavity and eats into your brain! I also have wondered why the Brits planted that damned flag! :)

Aussies love Americans. Great place to go for Americans. Just be careful of the rabbits.

Just keep away from Queensland which is where all the snakes, spiders, crocs, box jellyfish etc live. As far as sharks go the navy patrol boats use them as target practice everyday so they generally are not a problem..

As for silly Poms aka Deejaykeg they mostly live in Western Australia with all their pommy mates as its much closerto home when it gets too hot for them. So don't go there Its 4000k away and the further the better.

That leaves the rest of the country to enjoy the best beer, wine food and women.

Hey Blk Plague where is your friend going to be when he gets here?  Australia is a pretty big place.  Once we know what state(s) he will be in we can provide a few ideas.

And tell him, whatever he does, don't worry too much about crocodiles and snakes, but he must watch out for the Drop Bears.

Cairns, Melbourne, Sidney, Canberra and Adelaide.

Cairns is great!

Will list all the great things

1. You have the great barrier reef! Now you could do a pontoon trip or spend the day on one of the islands (Fitzroy or Green Island) I've done all and all are great! You will need at least 1 whole day to do this or even 2.

2. Kuranda by skyrail! Catch the skyrail from Cairns to Kuranda and back (Kuranda is a village in the rainforest) its so beautiful, lots of markets with local produce and handmade delights! Going by skyrail is a must to see the beauty from above.

3. Crystal cascades! This was a place that was a local treasure (tourist didn't know about it)

Web definitions

The Crystal Cascades is a relatively unspoilt section of Freshwater Creek, with numerous waterfalls and swimming holes popular with the locals and tourist.

4. Palm Cove. Relaxin beach front and I think there is a nudist Island close by lol

Your mate is going to have a great time Down under you should be very jelly

Melbourne: Lygon Street for the best Italian food around, then off to Acland Street for desert - seriously, it's a street full of cake shops and cafes.  Southbank has a great evening display with gas burners...

Canberra:  War Memorial Museum.

Sydney:  The Opera House and the Harbour Bridge - take a ride on a Sydney Ferry.  Maybe go to Bondi Beach.
