As far as sharks go the navy patrol boats use them as target practice everyday so they generally are not a problem.. As for silly Poms aka Deejaykeg they mostly live in Western Australia with all their pommy mates as its much closerto home when it gets too hot for them. So don't go there Its 4000k away and the further the better. That leaves the rest of the country to enjoy the best beer, wine food and women. Now you could do a pontoon trip or spend the day on one of the islands (Fitzroy or Green Island) I've done all and all are great! You will need at least 1 whole day to do this or even 2. 2. Kuranda by skyrail! Catch the skyrail from Cairns to Kuranda and back (Kuranda is a village in the rainforest) its so beautiful, lots of markets with local produce and handmade delights! Going by skyrail is a must to see the beauty from above. 3. Crystal cascades! This was a place that was a local treasure (tourist didn't know about it) Web definitions The Crystal Cascades is a relatively unspoilt section of Freshwater Creek, with numerous waterfalls and swimming holes popular with the locals and tourist. 4. Palm Cove.
