This is really "cool" LOL. What a great idea! This is simple to make and parts are cheap. Except the solar panel

if you choose to buy one. I think I'm going to build one for this summer. I live in Phoenix so it will be a true test of it's cooling abilities.

As an engineer I can't help but point out that it would be more efficient to simply put air ducts into the freezer you used to make the ice.

 

(naturally you would need to duct the hot air off the coils to the outside to make any difference at all)

that thermometer he was using in inferred dose not read air but reads surface temps the temp he was reading was the inside of the bucket were the ice was not actual air temp.but it was cool any ways

LOL guys. It's just a cheap way to make some cool air. It's better than nothing if nothing is what you have. It looks like a fun experiment to me. I was thinking it would be cool to use when camping in the RV. May be a good way to save LP gas.

I remember back in the late 70's I had a friend with a small ice chest with a fan that pugged into the lighter of his truck. There was a company that made them at some point, so this works on the same principal. The solar cell and fan is a great idea.
