Been looking for a cheap starter vehicle for my 17 year old daughter and all I find online in my area is junk but I came across this ad http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/lethbridge/blue-ford-escape/594910291?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true so I emailed the guy last night and asked him if it was still available and apparently has a torque converter issue. He replied back to me saying that if I have it out if his place by Wednesday night I can have it for $200. Is it worth it? Anyone have experience with this vehicle and possibly this particular issue? Is it a big job? I've pulled torque converters from earlier 80's vehicles but never on something newer like this. Opinions anyone?

for 200 I would say it's definitely worth the fixes, in the very least you could scrap it for more than that.  Doesn't look bad, the tires look bald as hell though.  but I'd wait for a few more opinions

I had a 2003 Escape and drove the wheels off that car  . . it was fast and handled good at 100+ MPH

Never had any issues with it but then again I did regular maintenance and preventive maintenance  it had 140,000 mi on it when I traded it for my super duty

good mileage too.

So did you get the car @KingStinger!  ?

@@Leadfinger no I didn't. He said Monday to have it out by Wednesday and I emailed him back as to where I pick it up an have never heard back. It's now Thursday. I'm gonna email him again tonight. His ad is still running and I still want it. Even if I part it out I think I can make money on it.

I had an 02 escape. and I loved mine. maybe it was because it was my first car. but it handled really well. I even did the not recommended donuts in it lol. and she never tried to tip or anything. tthey have great pick up and go. like what @@Leadfinger said they handle really well at 100+ speeds. I have also replaced few things on it Escapes really are not hard to work on at all.
