How sad yet befitting! I use to listen to him as a kid and wish I had even half his talent.

I can't get audio on that video for some reason.

I watched the story on him this morning on the Today Show. I always enjoyed his music. Even though he can't speak now and usually doesn't recognize family members, if they put a guitar in his hands he can still play like his old self. There is a TV special coming up on him. Not sure what day or time yet.

My mom had it also, not nice or fun at all to take care of those people who got it.It's sad when some days you see them remember old phone numbers, yet they can't remember who their own son is and I was with her everyday.Very sad,I don't wish it on anyone.

They say he was the first musician to take control of their talent and market it. A very smart man .

i wont revisit him since i learned he was a wife beater.

He technically wasn't a wife beater and there were only accusations by his then girlfriend Tanya Tucker years after the fact, but no charges were ever filed.  They were both coked up and drunk out of their minds during their 2 year relationship and there were always stories of them fighting constantly although nothing physical. He was also 45 at the time and she was 21. She was also a well known druggie and drinker from her early teens. She used to brag about kicking guys asses and drinking them under the table.

I'm not giving him a pass, but it was more of a he said/she said situation and without hard evidence I try not to assume anything.
