Firefights where accuracy and tactics actually plays a role. Not just camping and waiting or "i saw you first" type of play. You will generally see HC players bitch and complain about cheaters, when playing on Normal, but not the opposite for Normal players playing on HC. I choose not to play on HC servers because, to me, its boring (there are no firefights where the enemy has a chance to kill me), its less challenging to me and always seems so much easier than Normal. People come but they leave because of the lag. Who is the vendor we are using for this server and where is it located? I know this has been discussed in the past. The provider used most often doesn't make much difference as they all seem to use the same data centers and connections. They just change the reverse DNS so on trace routes it says another company name. Occasionally some lease better HW but honestly most even use the same HW, it just comes down to how many virtual servers they cram on them and the load. (Similar to what shared website providers do) It's more luck of the draw. You can have the same company in the same location give you 2 servers and one run better vs. the other because other things shared with it or the data pipe it's using etc. Also different physical locations plays a big role as some locations have better peering points (routing to various providers) and more BW etc. I don't think the issue in this case is BW as latency has been fairly consistent and suspect it may be a host load issue during peak times. We'll see what happens. I suspect they will hate me because I can push them on the much more technical stuff due to my background and BS detector. I do like spotting and spawning on the squad mate of my choice...so... can you make a hardcore server, with teamkill disabled, mini map disabled, spotting enabled and squad spawning enabled? Love the HC preset with the SC dmg. I have played on some classic servers that don't go as far as removing the dorito or allowing friendly fire and I couldn't tell the difference with regular softcore. Yeah, I guess you can bring up the full map, but while you do that to see if anyone's around, someone could likely get the drop on you.
