Blackbart Posted March 1, 2015 Member ID: 51 Group: Fallen Members Followers: 51 Topic Count: 342 Topics Per Day: 0.06 Content Count: 5974 Content Per Day: 1.04 Reputation: 3766 Achievement Points: 45818 Solved Content: 0 Days Won: 1 Joined: 09/01/09 Status: Offline Last Seen: October 27, 2021 Birthday: 06/26/1949 Posted March 1, 2015 I have an ASUS MOBO P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3...Intell I/7 2600k...G-Skill SDRAM DDR3 (PC3 12800) ...XFX 6950 GPU....I have been struggling with BSOD and freezing and in general less than satisfactory performance ever since I have built this computer (3yrs. ago)...After reading a myiad of forums searching for a solution I came across a thread that talked about the tpu and epu swithes on the mobo...It stated their default position from the factory is disengaged... I checked mine was in the engaged position...So I set them to the default...Stability has since improved greatly...Now I noticed the RAM timings are reading 11-11-11-28 when they should be 8-8-8-24...Will I get a noticable performance boost by changing the timings or should I leave well enough alone ? The memory controller must have configured to the most stable timing it could automatically select. Unless you're a benchmark buff, NO! the performance won't really be noticeable to you.
