Firstly, the hydrocordone will only give 4 hours relief if you are in a lot of pain. If you are not at the max dosage, ask for a higher one. I can remember setting my alarm clock to go off before the 4 hours so I could take another one and keep the pain down. Second, try an over the counter stool softener. Might help. If that is no good try Fleet suppository they work pretty good. Drink a lot of water also if you haven't gone in a while! Trust me on that! Use Fish Oil in liquid form each day, it helps make the basketballs you're crapping to come out easier. I'm on a permanent prescription of hydrocodone because of damage while in the service. I had problems at first with constipation but fish oil, and blueberries throughout the day got it under control. It's amazing what a handful of them will do.
