The Family today added a new member as it became obvious that our 1998 Chevy Z-71 had seen better days and no one was sure if something would break on her. So today we went out and dropped about $56,000.00 on a 2021 Z-71 with the 6.2L V8 and everything we wanted and needed in a New Chevy plus she is beautiful. Between everything including our Trade, 10 Year Bumper to bumper Warranty, Price on the New Truck using their "Internet Price", and the interest rate on our loan I was able to save the Family about 10 Grand and also helping our Son build his Car Buying Credit. He has a great score but has never had a Car Loan so he and I did this together even though he will be making the payments and Lorie can use it whenever she wants to pull her Horse Trailer and I can use it for fishing and Skiing as well. We were so proud of him when we found out his credit score is over 800 and he has almost zero debt. I mentioned today during the Morning COD2 TDM Games that we might buy a "NEW TRUCK" and the majority of responses were "With today's prices".

We have been in the market for the right Tundra with price and options but they are hard to come by now a days...Found the last 2 2021's in white (yuck) and if you smashed them together it may have been what we wanted outside of the color...Not even considering used at all...We want 4x4 in silver or blue with all the other bells and whistles...Going to need it to pull at least 10.000lbs over hill and dale :)...

Congrats !

Awesome buy Ron. I have always driven an SUV but the Mrs Pete convinced me to buy a 2020 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition. I would like to say I drive it often but it seems to be Mrs Pete vehicle more often than not. Lol

2022 Tundras will have the new twin turbo V-6. Toyota claims more hp, torque and better fuel mileage than the V8’s. Design seems to be towards more power and better cooling. Not sure I’d want to be a 1st adopter though. The new engine in the Tacoma was a mess when it was 1st released.

Yeah Toyota has been having some issues...Our last Rav4 (2020) had some issues with excessive engine noise and the stupid air pressure light killing the battery...Then the trans would act like it was faulty during low speed shifting...Needless to say 43k miles later and one accident (rear) we replaced it with the 2021...Seems most of the bugs were worked out with this one so far...

I have never been a turbo guy but rather either straight economy or straight power and with the current climate we will be needing power for heavy pulling

Who knows we may have to consider something outside of Toyota

As a general rule, Toyota usually takes at least three years before they get all the bugs worked out of a new generation. The newest generation of Rav4 started in 2019 and was also a mess when it was released.

In the 40 plus years of driving, I have only bought two new vehicles.  I buy 2 or 3 years old.  Let the original owner take the depreciation hit.  Crazy your new truck cost what my house cost when we built it, back in the 80's !!!
