PCI Express 5.0 will be one of the hottest new things to arrive at the computer ecosystem. With double the transfer rate and bandwidth from PCIe 4.0 and four times the transfer rate of PCIe 3.0, it's a generational leap that will impact how we use our PCs and allow for mind-bending SSD and networking speeds and make things that weren't possible before a reality.

Built my friends box with a PCI 4.0 on a X570 mobo and transfer rates, load times are damn fast.  He accused me of building him a "gaming" pc.  😂 He's not a gamer, but said to make it fast....

PCIe 4.0 is twice as fast as PCIe 3.0. PCIe 4.0 has a 16 GT/s data rate, compared to its predecessor's 8 GT/s. In addition, each PCIe 4.0 lane configuration supports double the bandwidth of PCIe 3.0, maxing out at 32 GB/s in a 16-lane slot, or 64 GB/s with bidirectional travel considered

The PCIe 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 only only makes sense if upgrading all components to that specification. If your graphics card or SSD only supports 2.0 then upgrading to a 5.0 MB makes little difference. Likewise if you put a 5.0 SSD in a MB that is only 3.0 capable it will not run any faster than the old buss speed. That being said it makes sense to upgrade the MB first to the latest spec and then add the peripherals later.

Well that depends are we subtracting or adding? Again are we comparing price advantage (good Question Labob) Because if were only climbing by 2 basis piont should we pay triple or 4 times the price ? For I would asume in this case the climbing numbers mean better output as to the inevitable I'm #1  🙂 .  And sometimes it just means there selling sizzle instead of ????
