If you are talking about files (pics) on your PC then right click and select view large or extra large icons.

The pics will then show up

I see what you mean, is there a show thumbnails option on right click?

I'm only savy to win10 at present but that's how I do it there.

I would try the properties button on the right there and choose a default program to open / view the .jpg files
if it is not in properties do a search for default and you you be able to open a whole list and choose defaults like web browser, pictures and stuff like that

The thought is:
associate picture to program to view then windows will allow preview with the right program that opens it

seems legit in my so so brain LOL

I'm running the newest 11 23H2 beta and I had to get Windows Photo Viewer from the MS store to see any pics. Runs really good so far but it's missing a bunch of stuff.
