Shout out to all and anyone who, like myself, toil in dark of night while all others slumber peacefully getting ready for Monday and their 9=5ers. Nightshift people are a special breed.  Tonight we begin the week that nobody else wanted to start. We a tad fucked in the head IMO.

Sgt Ahole, worked many years on that shift before retirement. Gotta experience it to know how it feels. Hang in there , just hope the moneys worth it.

I start nights tonight.  At least there are no bosses around so my partner and I can run the show ourselves.  2030-0600.

I knew whats its like working night shifts , worked few years from 2200hrs to 600 hrs , so tough getting in bed when sun is rising while driving back home , its a different life style , i turned all my life around even in the day off easier to do it .

But when was older was too rough had to retire then .

Used to work a shift 5:30pm - 4am many years ago.  Add 45min commute each way, makes for a long day, hard on the body and mind after a while.  Never mind trying to get a regulated sleep when it's a rotation shift.

That was long ago, don't miss it.  I prefer my current straight day job.

Definitely agree it's not a shift for everyone but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Like you say its the markets that pushed these shifts, like everyone need the newspapaer early , or fresh bread  in the morning ,  thats only few exemples where they have to make production in the night.

6am to 6pm first 2 days then 6pm to 6am the 3rd and forth day , off 3 days then reverse order and start all over again. that was my shift for over 10 years.

Thats messing a health....

Donno why industries does these shifts , its always easier to have regular shifts even if its nights..
