I wish you a good surgeon and a speedy and full recovery. Is the work being done by keyhole rather than open heart surgery? If so, that should speed your recovery somewhat, I'd have thought? Be well! -

Thanks all. A landmark one, this year...60! I am now officially an old b**t**d! Wife took the day off work to take me out to lunch - was looking forward to a nice fillet steak - then something resembling dysentery struck at 4am and I began to melt from the inside out. I've had nice folks delivering gifts of ale to me but haven't been well enough to open one just yet. My "celebratory" dinner consisted of a bowl of cream of chicken soup... When I'm better, we'll have a belated lunch up at the pub.

Mixed feelings about this as there's enough junk in space already but let's hope this thing doesn't contaminate an alien world or crash into a more serious spacecraft!

COD WAW is not the only game affected. There have been problems with COD4 too and online searches to find out any information show many results relating to connection problems experienced by players of their new COD WWII game. -

One of our Admins is in touch with Activision but, as yet, the company shows no signs of fixing the problem. We have had to resort to forced restarts of our servers every two hours to keep them accessible and we shall check from time to time if they can remain accessible without this interference. -
To try to manage the server connection problems better, I have set the server control panel to automatically restart the DM2 server every two hours from midnight. One hopes that this will prevent players from being "locked out". If there are no Admins about to change to start-up map, it will mean you may be playing mp_airfield quite a lot!

I got the ruddy thing going again. I don't think it is a permanent fix but the problem was like constipation. The tablet was so crammed up with junk and even apps that it was running out of resources to operate. As these things auto-update, there's a need for continual maintenance to remove junk.
