At 5.30pm BST, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will become the longest reigning British monarch in history. (She is also the longest-serving Head of State of any country in the world.) Some years ago, when I flew over Sverdlovsk Oblast in Russia (in a 747, not a U2 or anything like that!), one could see a landscape pockmarked with holes, mainly filled with water of various colours and hues. The cratered landscape looked industrial but there could be many sinkholes too as there's lots of water around there.

Fred and Mary got married. But they can't afford a honeymoon, so they go back to Fred's parent's home for their first night together. I don't know how far around the world news of this horrendous crash of a 1950s vintage Hawker Hunter onto a busy main road has gone. Up to 20 people may have been killed. It occurred at a place called Shoreham which is adjacent to the city of Brighton on the south coast of England. The clan has at least one Admin @@coolmd and his father residing there (gmax_cool?). We haven't seen coolmd on the website at least for ten days and this post is to enquire for confirmation that he and his Dad and any other of our members/ users in Sussex are OK and have not been touched by this tragedy.
