Great show if you havent seen it. The game looks like the usual run&gun FPS on CQ maps with various gimmicks. Been there done that. It would really need to be a real team game to stand out. The narrator suggests the various ways that encourage this but it wont be enough. The vid is just one guy running around. Not a fan of the 'pay to win' business model either. Just charge a fair price to everybody so nobody has an unfair advantage.

There has been a large glut of military FPS games for the past several years. Pretty hard to come up with something new and refreshing. Name it and it likely has already been done.

Robot Chicken is always the best. Their made up songs are great. Village People rejects... gotta love it.

I occasionally get attempts from other countries trying to get into my system. Obviously to see if they can break in. But its likely fully automated to cycle through addresses like robocalls and see which ones respond. I forget the setting but see if your router responds to them. There are legit websites that scan all your ports and such for ping responses or if you are essentially blacked out. I am sure you already do this however. Also, if you did have torrents running somewhere then there is a period of time that other clients will remember you and attempt to see if it can continue downloading a certain file. So that is still something to check out.

For that bridge its mostly our own fault. We wanted it. We wanted it now. We wanted it cheap. We demanded low-bidder. When we pushed to get it built without proper studies (which we tend to equate with 'more expensive') we rolled the dice that it wouldnt come back to bite us in the ass. Then we complain when it does. Multi-billion to do it right the first time? Or one billion and take a greater risk of problems or a half-assed final product? Most people always choose one billion and ignore everything else. People that say 'wait' are just nay-sayers. So in this particular case, it was supposed to be a multi-billion dollar project but we would only accept a cheaper one. Same thing. You get what you pay for and its going to cost much more than it would have otherwise.

You need to check out the money CA does allocate to transportation. It is huge compared to probably every other state even with the budget deficits. The problem is that the number of roads and/or improvements required is more than even that money can handle. The number of road miles per resident is pretty high in a state that loves to drive and wants their roads and big highways everywhere and wants them now. We would think that the taxes per resident here would be the highest in the nation. On the list it is more like 6th or 7th. A complicated list with lots of caveats. One of which is the voter decision to limit residential and commercial property taxes back in the late 70's so people dont get taxed out of their homes especially the retired. We benefit from that greatly. But you reap what you sow. We pay higher gas taxes but in return our property taxes dont explode every year unless we sell and move somewhere else in the state or make major additions. Want the state to pay for stuff? We can either change the laws so property taxes are calculated like most everywhere else. Or get the taxes elsewhere. You choose.

Such letters likely were because they downloaded torrents from fakes set up as seeders or clients. Or maybe more likely they were seeders and the various anti-piracy people logged on as clients. Get enough data from the seeder to make sure it isnt a fake. Get the IP. Data and time. Filename. And pass them along to the provider. I dont know about file location however or if its possible to get that information from torrent clients. But it wouldnt surprise me. I dont use bittorrent so I cant say.
