That won't do it...really.. not even when you overclock it by w/e.

If you share your budget and info of APG or PCI-E version would help (motherboard brand and type by CPU-Z (google that and run it))

HD 2400 pro, wow, thats a dinky little card. My son has that in his Dell Inspiron 531s ...meaning slim. The issue with his computer is one, all the video cards I get him have to be low profile, which is what his HD 2400 is....second ,to get a more powerful video card, the power supply may need upgraded, on his slim desktop, he has a small dell PS that wont accept anything bigger.  Whats the make and model of your PC...and your power supply wattage if possible....would have to open your case and read the sticker on your power supply...output watts.

just did some research .... looks like there are at least 2 different power supplys based on the graphic card you ordered

a 375 watts should be in there with the 2400 pro and with a better card like the 8800 gtx a 425 watts psu

for sure its PCI-E

I read about a few people updating their XPS with a Radeon 5770 but with the 425 watts  psu

Max Power Draw:

ATI 2400 pro -  25 watts

Geforce 8800 GTX - 176 watts

Radeon 5770 - 108 watts

X-Ray help me out LOL

if the 8800 GTX works with the 425 watts

the 5770 might work with the 375 watts?

According to the specs on that system it either has a 375watt or a 425watt power supply, the minimum for most video cards worth a crap have a minimum of 450watt recommendation, as does the card I am going to suggest for you, it's cheap enough and will do just about anything you will need it to, I have this card in my system, here's the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102859

Here are some power supplies that will work also for the upgrade http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%204025%20600014021&IsNodeId=1&name=501W%20-%20600W

Mind you there are better, more expensive cards and power supplies out there but for what I need and most people need these will work just fine.Cool

Either way, you'll probably need a better power supply. Most new cards require at least 26-30 amps on the +12volt rails, if you have the 430 watt, a better card maybe possible. You may try http://www.pcpower.com/products/description/Silencer_500_Dell/index.html  , they sell replacement Dell Power supply that are upgrades to what the stock Power supplies are. But those are special fit power supplies.

The 420 will take any standard ATX style supply with either a 24 or 20+4 main power connector.

Look on your Power Supply , look for Output watts, may say 300 or higher..Also look for a reading that says +12volts then an amperage number, may be more then 1.

like some stated maybe you need a new psu...but I am not this sure...

they sold this pc with the 425 watts psu and a 8800 GTX GeForce... thats a real old card with a lot of power needed...

same power consumption like a 5750 crossfire system...

I had a SLI sys with 2 8800 GTS 512 cards and a 500 watts psu before and running my new sys with 2 x 5770 crossfire and the old psu before upgrading the psu

for sure its worth a try to buy a 5750 Radeon without upgrading the psu
