Use that link above and you can select cards.

I have Radeon, because my motherboards supports Crossfire. I have used NVidia in the past, but Radeon is just cheaper and performing very well costs/performance. These 5770's were 180 euro's (200+ bucks) and replaced my 3870's CF althought they were good at the time :)

Can't beat the price and put it in and play games and you forget what ever you have in the case :P

I built this computer from newegg except the videocard was 20 bucks cheaper at tiger direct; evga p55ftw mobo, corsair tx850w pwr supply, WD 1TB HD,6GB OCZ gold memory, I7 860 Quadcore 2.8Ghz processor & a Cooler Master V8 cpu cooler and who knows maybe a videp card that handles dx11 will help me stop from losing my sound on my wonderful reltek OB soundcard lol..............

edit: vc was same price except I get free shipping from evga Tongue out

Personally I would look for more card, It will be the only thing holding you back with the rest of your hardware. I always try to get the biggest card I can afford.

I wouldn't replace a 250 with a 520.  The clock and GB ram are not all u need to look at.  The processor cores make a difference too.  The 520 is a newer card, but in its day the 250 had more balls.  I would look around a bit.  That is basically just a low level...new card.

I got a 430 to hold myself over.  On my widescreen 1360 x 768 with no AA i get 55 fps on World at War and about 90 fps on modern warfare 1.  I turn the fan up before i play because it gets warm tho (60-62c).  I plan on getting a 550 around christmas.  The 440 has about the same clock and 2x the processor cores as the 520...read some reviews at newegg...etc.  I would probably stick with the 250 until i saved for a better card than the 520; or look for a good deal on something over the next few months.

Here is a quote from a user of the 1gb 520: "It's about as good as a gt240 superclocked" ...that would make me think twice about your replacement.

Also it's 65 + 3 shipping at newegg, and has a 20 mail in rebate.

Your gts250 is by far better than a gt520.A gt520 would be a step in the wrong direction. You need a gtx550 or better to be an upgrade.

well said....

have a look at the Nvidia 460 or the 550TI

the older 460 series is not this bad ;)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121390

115 bucks

the 550 is around 140 bucks I think

a lot more performance....and you dont want to downgrade your pc

I wouldn't buy a card like that. You got a good system with a good powersupply and all...that card would be the weakest link...if you're a gamer, you have to buy something better... I know money doesn't grow in trees tho...

GTX 460, GTX560, GTX560Ti....Radeon HD6870...I know it's about $200+....

I'd go 560Ti or 6870...

ok well what about the gtx550 ti, I looked at both the gtx550ti and the gtx550ti superclocked, I went to newegg and read reviews and compared prices only 1 review on the 550 ti and it was good sofar, several reviews on the superclock and most were scary to say the least. the TI at newegg also would come with a free 10year war. and the cost would be about the same after shipping...

edit: only a 3year war. from evga...

the 550Ti has 192 CUDA cores, which is the same count as the first GTX260s that came out...you can find a GTX260 second hand for cheaper than a new 550ti...

craigslist, kijiji, ebay....

Your GTX250, which is a rebranded 9800GTX+ with was pretty much a 9800GT overclocked, which is a 8800GT with a few extra bits....

Beware of numbering schemes in graphics cards, especially in regards with nVIDIA products....

Try to find at least a GTX460 for a real upgrade/current gen (well 460 is last year, but still it's an valuable upgrade) that will bring a smile to your face...!!!!!!

you have to really look at reviews of the cards with benchmark results in the games you enjoy playing....resolution and eye-candy settings are also important....

a GTX460 is 15 to 20% more powerful

The 1GB cards are faster, it's a proven fact. Why? The memory bandwith is better, the memory bus is wider, and there is more RASTER OPERATION units...External exhaust is always better, but if you got a great case with nice cooling, it's not bad really.

Careful, with EVGA, not all warranties are the same...WATCH which SUFFIX the model number has...

Me thinks you did good!

$169 after mail-in rebate, lifetime warranty (it's an AR...), plus that photoshop freebie...

1Gb card, superclocked...let us know when you get it, how you like it and all!

Don't forget to register the card on EVGA's site as soon as you receive it to benefit from the lifetime warranty...

and they have their STEP-UP program, where you can, within 90 days, upgrade to a better card if money grows in your backyard's trees...

Now, this a NICE upgrade from a GTS250!!!!!
