because you have no options right.

Ok i been working on a few mac's for a pool company. They know dick about computers. He has a backup not setup to an external......... but I am not sure what to backup CUZ I CANT FIND THE DATA.. hahahah He has few MACs with different data but I just can figure out how to collect all the data. Pisses me off......... why are there no options. hahahaha just makes me laugh.

For instance.......... right click a file and try and find out where it is.... zero info. I dont get being spoon fed by an OS. Is there a way I can get all the data. See the drive as I want to. Not through a well IPhoto Itunes Ifuckinghateyou and Idontgiveafuck. hahhahaa jk

I want to see the hard drive like in windows. Where I see all files. Is that possible? I mean it is Linux...... so just a shell over Linux.

I am not joking here as some will say I am. I would like to learn this for the stupid people that buy them.

Dude

Every user has a personal folder on a mac. Mac OS was the first operating system to make sifferent people's files invisible to others. So if you log in as you, all you can see are your files.

You would have to log in as each person in order to "see" their files.

Each "User" folder has the following default subfolders

Desktop

Documents

Downloads

Library

Movies

Music

Pictures

Public

Sites

The only folder that everyone would be able to see is the "public" one

Don't know if that helps

Nick I think your wrong on the separate personal folders thing. I had a GUI for my Commodore 64 that did the same thing. You had to log-on to your own "partition" to see your files and couldn't see anyone elses.

Then again, in the beginning Macs were based on the same Motorola 8808 chip so it was a natural progression for them to evolve to the "now defunct" system when Commodore/Amiga went under.
