Hello Sgt Twinkie here. I'm in the process of building a new computer and would like to pick your brains over some advice, info, hint, etc. I will be bringing the following parts from my old pc over to the new one.

two 1 tb segate 7200 rpm dard drives.

soundblaster xi fatality

misc cd\dvd burner

XFX 6050 video card with 2gig ram

That being said I have a budget of around $650.00 us. Now I know that the current intel procs beat that new AMD procs hands down but that doesn't bother me. I have ordered 16 gig of kingston hyper x ram at 1600. Will be using windows 7 premium. Any info on what proc and mobo that you could suggest will be greatly appreciated.

This isn't a bulldozer, but it's still strong as an ox.. best chip I've ever had, and still rated best of AMD chips outside of 8 core line:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819106008

This is the mobo I have it in:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131644

You may want to consider the Crosshair V, it's latest gen with AM3+ socket.. but it'll cost another $100 us.

I've run this setup over a year now, and I have zero complaints. It's overclock ability is fantastic, if you are into that.

I didn't look at the memory compatibility on this mobo and the memory you ordered, but you can do that.

Good Luck!!!!

LOL Bama rules why is it you have a hard time with football ?? bulldozer is sweet but you will never ever use it same goes for 6 cores 4 core does the job everytime and I do not know of a game that uses 4 core as well. Crysis boys will be on my butt soon. So any thing over 4 cores lets say better then 3 ghz with a strong MB will work just great. Everything after that is bragging rights. 8 gig of memory for gaming is way more then you really need. So lets see what wil bring you to the next level of killda suckers ????? bandwidth spend your money on moving closer to the servers. If you have a wife its best explained as a bussness trip scope out the server storage site and find the hard wired link to the phone company and then move next to the switch bank. Even better get an access card to the server floor and most military cots fit in the asiles. ya now have a stinking fast machine hooked up to the mother load and your ping is 0 you win :). Jezz what that cost ?? Ya know if you get the god ping of nada its even better to read the foruoms to see what they have to say about it.

Well for starters do not use a terabyte for the C/: you wont want to go over 500 on the C drive , and 4 g of RAM is enough

but for online play 8 g has bench marked much faster than 4 , in our test using the same computer 8 g was superior to the

4 g, the results were night and day and I would go with an ASUS motherboard , but really this is better to discuss say like

on TS or Xfire hit me up if you'd like to chat about it anytime .

new ivy bridge is coming out....but sandy bridge is real cheap with i7 2600k,,,easily clocked to 4,0 and get a corsair liquid setup [single rad all in one never needs filling],to cool it probably for under six hundred bucks i would imagine...total for a rig that does 4.5 with ease...my bud [bADDger] has the sandy bridge board with the i7-2600 k and it smokes...asus pro deluxe b i believe it is.keep us posted on your setup i like this tech shit

if you got that up and running before i make my order, let me know what your temps runs if your using just a fan. i looked at that cpu for my build, but the reviews had me worried on temps. i dont want to do water cooling, and most were saying it needed it.
