I am trying to up my memory to 8gb and I bought some kingston and when I install them along side my corsairs already in the screen is black so I removed the corsair with just the kingstons and they work but not together! Does that mean I have a compatibility issue going on? or what?

are they the same size and are they the same speed? What does your motherboard support as for placement of memory? 8 slots.. but do they have to be a certain size and can all slots be filled?

What type of motherboard do you have? make and model...

Read title of your post. Why did you install memory problems. Shouldn't have done that. LOL :hrhr:

First thing, is did you put them in alternating slots, one set goes in 1&3, seconds set goes in 2&4.

Let's hope it not the same trouble as the link Google posted, that would suck.

hmmmm, I've never mixed 2 different kinds, but if they both work by themselves but not together.....then I'd say they don't like each other and its not gonna work :(

take 2 of each and put them in. Two cross and two kingston then try it. If it fails.. memory compatibility problem. if it works then Mobo issue most likely.

It also matters what Operating system you're running. Windows 32bit will only accept up to 4 gigs of ram and the 64 bit will accept as much as the motherboard will hold. The type of Ram will not matter, but the same type is preferred as with the same ram it will run just a tad but faster, the ram will only run as fast as the slowest piece of ram.
