Okay I changed my settings as to where my demos files goes when I record via the console and so now I have no idea where the recordings I make are going and saving them if at all. If you know how this all works I could really use your assistance with this!  I need to set the COD 4 player to open that particular file to watch the recordings I have made.

you can try searching for demo0000  this is the default name for recordings done through the console. to view them open console and type /demo demo0000 and it will start playing it. i hope i was some help. edit: the numbers will go up for each recording you make. IE demo0000, demo0001 and so on.

I can find only demo0000 and nothing more nor can I find the map to it's location. Do you have any suggestions for how to find the file location? If I can find that all my concerns would be settled!

Dean-O ... if you can find the file demo0000, then that is where it is saving it... so i would venture to say either it is not being saved, or ... it is going

somewhere

else

Google that folder is there but the demo file was gone/not there, so I made one but it still isn't saving the tapes. I am pretty sure the video's are some where but can't find them, cause it plays the file demo0000. I wanna know how do I ffind the file that demo0000 is in.

Recording a Demo

1) Press ~ to open console.

2) Enter /record DemoName (i.e. /record BIF-013008)

*

All players should start recording upon entering a server. When you

leave the server after the match, recording will automatically stop.

Otherwise Press ~ and /stoprecord to stop.

v33kahn's edit:

Note: the DemoName must NOT contain spaces, unless you call it something like "Demo Name".. but who wants to do that?

If you are recording a cheater, call the file their name, please! And when the round is over, end the record, and make a new one with a different file name (like DemoName2).

Also, if you are in a spectate-locked,

server, you can join either side, regardless of auto-balance, and do NOT select a weapon, enabling you to team-spectate on our servers. Then you can record away on the suspected player. If the auto-balance swaps you, don't worry, just switch back wink.gif

- and lastly it makes it easy to find your target if he dies if you hit the mouse click once, and when 3 secs are up, you go through the players in reverse, you should find em quick! Happy Hunting!

Where do you find your recorded demo's?

WINDOWS XP, Here: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\demos"

If you're in a MODed server, check something like Here: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\pam4\demos"

WINDOWS VISTA:

"C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\demos"

Watching Demo's

use This Link to get the demo-player launcher; it playes through your game but properly launches it and has a picture of the commands.

1) Locate your Default Demo's Folder ( i.e. \Call of Duty 4\main\demos )

2) Copy your Demo ( Right click on Demo Select COPY )

3) Locate your PAM4 Folder ( i.e. \Call of Duty 4\Mods\pam4 )

4) Create a Folder called demos within the pam4 folder.

5) Paste the copy of your demo within this new folder.

6) Start CoD4 and run game in the Pam4 MOD. ( mods -> pam4 -> launch)

7) Press ~ to open console.

8) Type /demo DemoName ( i.e. /demo BIF-013008 )

Or read about everything plus pictures on the forum.... http://forums.fubar-online-gaming.com/index.php?showtopic=1466

Activision folder then cod4 folder then mods folder, then as Google said you need to know which mod you recorded from, click on that and your recording or recordings should be there.
