I needed a grill guard for my pickup to keep Deer from trying to be a hood ornament so I picked up some sheet metal and started cutting and welding. Here is the result. I call it "The Buck Buster" lol I made the bumper also but it is separate. The grill guard is hinged at the bottom so it swings down when I open the hood or I can take it off by removing 4 bolts. That thing was "beat up from the feet up" Its good that you son is interested in welding, learning as many trades as he can will make it easier to for him to find a good job Modern welding is so much more than just joining 2 pieces of metal and there is good money to be made. Only paid $450.00 for the truck, a great deal since the seller thought it had a siezed up axle - which turtned out to be something with one of the rear brakes. Just did a "rattle can" paint job, since we don't have the place to paint, but this was good first practice for him to do the real restoration he wants to do.....on this 1967 Chevy C10!
