You see it can get a bit boring when the temps are in the teens and after a couple adult beverages we decided to shoot the shitter with the S&W 500 (A .50 cal over sized high power handgun that makes you look like a little kid when you hold it . . lol) The first pic you can see the bullet (indicated by the arrow) just after smashing the bowl. And the next frame with the bullet. I used a Sony handicam and was able to capture these stills from the video. Not rocket science but thought is was pretty cool that a regular old handicam could capture such a fast moving object. Maybe I should have posted this in the Fishing and Hunting forums. It allows me to fully control my camera from my I phone or I pad. I use a Nikon D810 and it allows me to do just about anything I want with settings and shot duration that I want to from my I pad and phone. It also allows you to do live view on the I phone and I pad. They also make a pan tilt head for the tripod that is controllable from the I pad and phone. All of this is done wirelessly. It was 100F in the sun and we hiked 16 miles up 4,500' elevation change. It was intense. I think because of the heat, it was VERY hazy. Most of the pics didn't turn out but Here are some cool shots. This is right out of our campsite. On a whim I threw the tripod on the picnic table and nabbed a few 30 second shots. If I had known it was going to be so awesome I'd have done a time-lapse. On the hike there were lizards all along the rocky parts of the trail. This is one of the bigger ones. I think it was about 9" long. Have you visited the Giant Sequoias yet? you will find amazing shots there too.
