Not really computer related....

I emptied out the washing machine and I discovered I did something stupid. I washed my cellphone!  Its an old flipphone so really no big loss but I cannot get a replacement right now. Is it possible to bring it back to life by carefully using a hairdryer or something? Or is it dead? The screen did power on for a moment, no text or pictures just blank, but no sound and the lcd itself looks damaged.

You should take the battery and simcard (if you have one) out. Pour out/Blow out any water that is still sitting there with compressed air then leave it in a sealed container of rice overnight which should help to absorb the moisture coming off of it

Put it in a bag of rice! the rice absorbs all the water leaving it bone dry.

If you need a replacement cell phone, pm me....I got a few old phones I don't use anymore...

BTW...Great advice above....most phones will come back...after you....

1. remove battery and sims card

2. blow dry (hair dryer...sorry Hxtr)

3. place in rice for 24 hours or so (don't eat the rice afterwards...sorry again Hxtr)

4. reassemble and let us know

One other trick you can try... get a can of Canned Air. Take can and turn upside down and dosh the phone... it will freeze and look broken even more but it will help displace any water. Once it unfreezes then toss in a bag of rice.

This works great if you spill soda, OJ or cum on it as well.
