So I think my motherboard just died today. My computer went to sleep and now anything I do won't power it on or give me the no RAM beep. I've removed my GPU and RAM just trying to get a response. I've tried the MOBO's power, reset, and JCMOS (clear bios) buttons. Nothing works. I'm just leaving it off with no power and the MOBO battery removed to see if I can get anything to work later.

The only responses I get are case power light, and all the MOBO lights function properly. No fans, no beeps, none of my 3 hard drives are running... Only lights.

I just got my power supply. Majority of my system has a 3yr warranty. My power supply is an EVGA 850 G2 and I just got it in June. I will try my old power supply to see if I can get a response.  I use EVGA specifically for their 3yr warranty.

Nice... better than a MOBO.

Has to be under warranty right?

They are a pain on RMA's though.

The PSU is one thing you should not go cheap on. I'm very surprised my PSU died as fast as it did. EVGA has a 10 year warranty on their power supplies. They really stand behind the reliability of their products. I'm going to RMA for a replacement.

So my PSU didn't die. I have a faulty 24 pin cable. If only I had an extra. I'm getting a replacement for free. Glad I paid $1500 for my awesome gaming laptop.

Damn Hammer...if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all...

aj

BTW: when they mean a lifetime warranty they meant the companies (which is dead now)...not yours...

No codes post because nothing powers on. If I hook up a completely different PSU it powers up as it should but I don't feel like rerouting all my PSU cables just to reroute them a 3rd time.

So I finally figured out my MOBO South Bridge is bad. So I am getting a whole new replacement MOBO. I'm getting an EVGA Z170 FTW LGA 1151 to replace my EVGA X79 SLI LGA 2011.

I have purchased the i5-6600K and G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB SDRAM DDR4 3200
