Smart detected HHD/SSD failure 5 : WDC HD3200JS-60PD80 WARNING: Please back up your data and replace hard disk drive. WARNING: Your HHD/SSD might crash at any moment. Press F1 to run setup. At first both Drives worked, but then I had to reinstall Windows 10 around July or August and since then my HHD didn't work which wasn't to big a deal but this is the first time this has come up and another thing my computer shuts of on it's own and it's not set for that. So any help would be kindly Appreciated, Thanks. UPDATE! I just looked in systems and it only shows drive ©: and (E): the (D): drive is gone, but my question is, is there anything to worry about? The DOS version of the utility will allow you to perform the diagnostics without booting into any OS. You should be able to find it under Downloads by Product once you select WD Caviar Blue. You can expand the WD Software link there and follow the instructions there. http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?DL Edited December 19, 2016 by Go0fLo0p KicknDatAzz 1

Do you remember when you bought it? Either way, you should buy a new one and try to recover as much data as possible from the old one, which might not be possible for you to do on your own if the system doesn't even see it. If your C drive is as old as that one, you should probably replace it as well. iboomboom 1 Awards

D:\ is that the WD Hard Drive? Do you have all your data backed up? Unplug the older drive and make sure you can book ok still. The drive needs no testing it is failing. Normal for a hard drive. If you have data on it and need to get it off then can still be possible but the more it runs the less it will be. If not needed just unplug the power to it. If you need a new D: drive.. go buy one. Dont even bother trying to fix your old one. Hard Drives are designed to fail. A tool just in case you are wanting to save the data. This CD image you can boot off of that has tools and other. http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ Edited December 20, 2016 by hxtr google 1

The WDC-HHD is about 9-10yrs. old, now when I had this one built I had it installed along with the SSD. At first it was working I mean I could open it and look at the files the plan was to see what I didn't need delete them, then move some files from my SSD to the HHD to make more room on the SSD. About 4 months ago I had to reinstall WIN.10 and after that the drive still showed up in the system but I couldn't open it and after the message I got the other day it no longer shows up in the system. I'm not sure if it was even set up to run after I reinstalled windows because I couldn't open it after that it said it couldn't detect drive D: so I don't know what to tell ya' I know very little about this stuff. If you know the hard drive vers the SSD then just unplug the hard drive with the computer off. Then turn on. Some systems will auto detect the drive is gone and some may make you hit like F2 to continue or it may make you enter the bios then save exit and boot. If you try that and it does not work turn back off and plug it back in. If you are unsure witch is the SSD and witch is the HD then take a picture and we will tell you.

Normal life for a hard drive is 3-5 years. You are quite beyond that threshhold, and SMART can tell when a drive goes bad. What did the tools tell you? Bad blocks on there? Awards
