Hi all. Just about done with my retropie. Tiny little box. Would love to have an actual arcade machine but no place to build one, much less actually keep one in a condo. Picked up a second good usb controller for it, already have a ds4 which I like, but I'm also looking at fight sticks. Pretty big range between price and quality. Any personal experiences or recommendations? When it comes to electronics I try not to cheap out but good bargains are always welcome.

Interesting.  I was just thinking yesterday how much fun my family and I had growing up with Atari and Sega.  My boy would like the wide variety of games Sega had.

Saitek X52 Pro was the best that you could get like 15 years ago other than that expensive force feedback Microsoft Sidewinder flight stick that had serious problems with drivers and calibration from day 1.

I had a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for a long time but I bought it "remanufactured" and it developed serious calibration problems 2 weeks after I bought it. Alot of people swear that the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro was the best Joystick that you could get for under $100 US but mine was junk.

Logitech still sells the 3D Pro joystick and re-released the X52, X52 Pro and released a new X56. If you want something that is well built and still compatible with most PC games I would definitely give the Logitech stuff a look.

"Fight" stick not flight stick.  😁

https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=fightstick

I still have an old one I got for my snes... assuming it still works (the console bit the dust)... but the snes/usb converters for controllers are said to be laggy.

The legalities of all this are murky. Then again, a lot of the assets used in mods on all platforms are ripped from other games and ported. Thats not strictly legal either.

I’ll fight you @Sammy but you should know I’m ruthless.  I’m a black belt in the Costanza method of physical conflict and always heavily armed.

The main problem with all these game collections is weeding out the not so good games from the good ones. Or finding the hidden gems that most people have never heard of.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH!  lol

I had 1 for the original Nintendo and 1 for the Sega Saturn/CD. Those things are fucking Awesome.

The newer MadCatz stuff is pretty decent. These have really good reviews. You can find them on ebay used for $90-$140 and New in the box for $250+ but there are a couple available on Amazon for $179.99.
