Too hungry to even think about onions; just was insanely hungry & yet took the time to record it... but not think of onions...could have well-sauteed them nicely, along with the honey ham, which had a considerable amount of water, which managed to bring my cast iron pan down from 430F to 130F in a matter of a minute, thanks to all that evaporating water....which would be great for a situation where you would like to employ the steam driven from the ham or onion...but, together would have extended the wait time at least double what it was with the over-watered deli ham....perhaps I intuited this situation from experience... or just dumb luck. Either way, I hadn't eaten all day...consuming only shitty soft drinks; & water to stay hydrated, so I was all about getting that mass of yum in my face! Soo good, I ran out. One of the 'seasonings' I prepare as it is ssso nice to pop a cube of caramelized onions into a dish to quickly elevate it by orders of magnitude.
