I actually did do a project though. 20,000 gallon pool was getting too hot this summer 88 degrees, so I bought 2 fountains. Put one in like it was suppose to be put in but water only shot up 2 feet. Took forever to cool the pool. Took the other fountain and took spray bar off and capped it. Put it in the other pump inlet hole then turned the flow control pipe towards shut and the spray came up a lot higher on the other fountain. Cooled the pool down to 82 degrees in 2 days.

Not bad at all. 82 from 88 is  a big difference. Looks cool too. Just being around that will cool it down.

I'll show two projects one of many mine and one a friends is working on. First is my water the trees and save the water project.

My monkey blood loves to play in dirt and rocks. I did all the rock work prior to help trap water coming down for this tree and other plants. It over filled nicely so I dug down a bit deeper leveling it then made a new curb to direct water to the right towards my ditch.
image.thumb.jpeg.c9ff059caf928f2976facaf3e1316312.jpeg

There is a little dip in the Earth during clearing that fills with water so I am moving that excess water to this tree and to other plants I will have the direction I'm standing.
image.thumb.jpeg.e5f25ae50e20cbd0ed2dd8cfeb895142.jpeg

Over time all that rock will be estivated and the dirt used for other things leaving a natural looking ditch with lots of trees along the path. That is future stuff.. it don't look like it but that is a sit done of rock and dirt. It will take years to finish.
image.thumb.jpeg.009e4057472026f8e14c3dad8406267e.jpeg

You can kind of see the retention pond thing. It will drain this way for now on.

image.thumb.jpeg.6069b7c15f6f681eaf0c9c800971d816.jpeg

Here a cactus is planted and when water hits this area excess goes to the tree.

I will fill this area with rock.

Here's a past water the tree project so anything thing that comes off my roof waters this tree. My little damn slows the water down allowing this area to fill up keeping all the dirt in. photo_2024-07-13_06-44-43.thumb.jpg.27304e6fda072eead8e45dfc9b676135.jpg

Ok yes I know this is impossible but when you do it, it's not. My Buddy in Louisiana is always modifying something even on the news (i'll locate the video) air driving lawnmower. Problem is it needed a compressor to run. Then he mods cars and put LiPo4 or Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries like what we use in our cabins. I met him 4 years ago when we both decided to go LiPo4 for our cabin battery systems. We both for 4 plus years have talked about backup systems incase Bill Gates fucks up or Sun.

Gary being very dyslexic started out taking apart treadmills for the DC motors. Them same motors work great for modifying golf carts and other DC motor projects. He had an idea of taking two D.C. motors one spinning the other to produce enough power to charge whatever was driving the motor. He took a trip to Iowa were he got some other motors from family which was what he needed to accomplish this. Both motors run at 48v.

He's using Solar equipment and has the leads of the driven DC motor output leads feeding into the POV or Solar Panel input connection on his charge controller. Then he's spinning that motor with another motor using the same battery. Since with LiPo4 you can charge to 100% and use while charging.. once his battery hit full charge and goes in (LEAD ACID  Battery TERM) Float Mode all that power is usable after that.

Future upgrades will be a bigger driven motor to get up to 60 amp at 48v DC increasing his input power. Right now he has a 30 AMP output.  He's also adding a bridge rectifier to allow him to use that extra power while it is running and when it is done. Also going to make portable ones for his cart to help speed up charging when out hunting, camping and fishing.

Here's it running in action and some screen shots. I can't tell you what motors and other details as that right now is classified. Once it is perfected and he has a plan I can share more details.

Look at these numbers... there is more going out than is going in.

OK. We had Venturi adapters on our Coast Guard Cutter for the fire hoses and it created a foam out of a fire fighting chemical agent for fuel fires. It creates a vacuum when you shot water through it at high pressure sucking up the foam agent.

Here pool water stays pretty cool most of the summer so poeple add a heater to warm it up to 75 , most time in late spring and also later in aug sep when the nights are cool and freezes the water.

For my side dont need a pool in lakefront water was 78 F yesterday!!

WOW that's warm for a lake up there I'd suspect. Not bad at 78. I'd look like a @PickleRickby the time I got out of that water.

I was just going to say pickle...

Nice a 210. I never did board a 210 or a 378. Both looked so cool. I loved the covering under the Hello deck or Helicopter pad on the sides  That would've been great place to hang out underway. I freaking loved the Dolphin btw. The sound in Bootcamp became a sought after sound. Airwolf was one of my favorite shows going so I was stoked.
USCGC Steadfast returns home after 55-day counter narcotics patrol

I forget right now which 210' met us in between San Diego and Hawaii to fuel us. Not that we were out of fuel but there are laws we have to fallow. Never below 50 % fuel. I'm sure you remember that 2_Many_Beers.

USCGS Assateague was my cutter. I will get my pictures out and show what the she looked like before they added 10 foot. Do they still call it a 110" or a 120". I think it looks funning with that extra 10'.

We used to launch our small boat with a crane off to the side before the added 10 foot. It took talent and a good team. It became one of the most dangerous tasks during SARS and Boardings. We'd hall ass and drop to boat and seas always played a part in what we could do. But we could hall ass and drop Too many times not going fast disaster about happened due to a huge unexpected well of not going fast enough. Our fin stabilizers kept us steady but they sucked having at times or most of the time if not all the time. They fuck with your balance big time.  No roll sucks. Jerking back and forth sucks even more. The only thing that made me puke was heavy diesel flumes while doing a damn decky watch on the flying bridge, my favorite place. But I was a FN not what runs down Fireman's legs ala Seaman SA or SN's. So anyway Cutter would be going 9 knots and wind would be going 10 knots the same direction as did search patterns so every other lap was hell. OH man that shit sucked. Hot wet salty diesel fumes had me a puking.
Image illustrative de l'article Classe Island (USCGC)

I hate that back end... but oh well.
I use to know where everything that was on this cutter. Everything.... not joking every single thing. No thermometers allowed.  Built in Bollinger's LA my home for 3 months as she was built then moved we sailed her to New Orleans in the bayous. That was my fist duty station on a brand new cutter heading to Guam my birth place having zero idea what the hell I got myself into. That shit was wild AF.

I have original pictures like this. Been wanting to hang them. She was a beautiful cutter. Movie 'Clear and Present Danger' the begging part with the 110'... OH YEA! Fucking pumpers me up when I see that! This cutter was BAD THE FUCK ASS!!!!!! She is tough as shit. Only suppose to last 15 years and they are still going strong. I had no idea it was that bad ass till we went into Typhoons to rescue people Holly FUCK. WOW! Never doubt that cutter again after the 3rd one which was HUGE!!!! 32 foot seas.. meaning 64 foot swells. I thought we were going to die but I was so fun, cool scary, exhilarating all at the same time.. I didn't care. Bring it! I was such a noob from hell. The only Salt my life was use to came in a shaker.
USCGC Assateague.jpg

I really loved the Coast Guard. I love my cutter like a old friend I miss bad.

Venturi Inductor is what we called it. took me a bit to get the full name. I wanted to be stationed in St. Pete.. I was probably going to a Ice Barker if I stayed in.  I didn't want to climb Laran Tower to change light bulbs. Fuck that... I get out and we give them to Japan... DAMN! I would of went to the IT rate from TT. ET's and TT's like I went IT. Everythign changed while I was in. Telephones went digital. Computer all changed. We had every toy at my last station.

@Icequeen Project dry car day two. Rain coming later so I need to make sure and close her up before going to bed unlike the past two night. hahaha

See she does look clean.

Lots of smoke in the air for days... so not a nice picture.

Project update....  cleared an area, fixed the drainage so I retain water for plants, protected plants, started working on my mounds, and began filling in my parking spot hole I dug week or so ago.

First an Sat view of the area to help make the pictures make sense. Yesterday was working in side that blue circle in the red circle spot.

B: I'm clearing the area to get a better view of B's location where my cat lives. It drops 10' at B and there is a mound where the Red Dash is I put when clearing the area for my cabin. I made it into a hang out...... but I don't use it anymore.

A:  A is where the I think Bobcat lives anther 15' down from the mound area. I think I have two cats now where before I thought I only had one. I'll get into that later in a Cat Shit post or Cat Scat ID. All I know the new shit I found is huge so and one shit is much smaller. So is it the same cat is my question. Doesn't matter I just want to see them and observe. They're no threat to I or I'd be dead already.

C-D is a 25' drop. Yes I measured. image.thumb.jpeg.56bafdbf0e33c1b8b8deffa24d1f288a.jpeg
image.thumb.jpeg.9264219c2b5b3cc6ee140b1ac42e2cc0.jpeg

Next two pictures are the same one with markings. This is after I cleared yesterday.

image.thumb.jpeg.0c53a791dbc626b47fee333a79db2cc6.jpeg

The blue circle is my area I'm working. The read circle is that mound. The arrow points to tree tops that is in front of the cats cave. I have a camera I will start running to see if I get anything.

My efforts are paying off. This tree will get lots more water and so will the others along this path I am looking. It will be a line of trees. These things grow fast. I have one that few 3 foot last year.

Now no water goes pas this line..... eliminated erosion while watering the desert.

This is the part I started yesterday. It rained after so when the Sun comes up I will go check my work. I am looking for pooling water spots to show I am retaining water. After I get that done I will make it look pretty. Function first pretty later.

Zoomed in view of Bobcat Mound. It's a freaking great view on top of that mound. I have rock on top to so you can sit. Just not going to sit there and piss off the cat. Only when I want to see something do I go on top... like watching the Wash run.

But I walk by there all the time at least once a day. I just don't stick around. He gets pissed and leaves Scat to warn me it's his or her territory. Other areas Dear guts were left in the Wash where I know this cat or the other cat hangs out. It left it for me after doing a days work clearing a path to the Mountain. I just ignored it but I do respect that is their area.

This is the tree that grew 3 foot last year. It use to be a huge tree and it will be huge again. Mistletoe and wormed ate the branches up so I started over. Hard as hell to kill one of these things but Mistletoe will do it in 4 to 6 years.

This year it has already grown over a foot. I watered the bark of the tree since spring keeping it nice and happy. Quail love to hang out by it.

Roots of mesquite trees can reach 200 foot down. If you have a slab and a Mesquite creates shade for your home.. your foundation will have major problems. These britches stop at nothing to get water.

This is the local water hole for birds an critters. If the water runs out the birds always let me know but I change it once a day sometimes twice if the bees are really thirsty.
