COD4 Ban Appeal

5. Why do you think you were banned?:

   I was running my VPN prior to do some work. My bet is that it wasn't all the way off when I entered the game. To be honest, I don't know if it's a ban or something else. The message is:  otection: matched rule 'proxycheck-risk-score-dangerous'

   Just let me know. I think that y'all know I'm here for the fun and comradery and nothing sinister like cheating or hacking.

Did you try joining without your VPN?

Yes. Without the VPN is the normal way I connect. I only use the VPN for work when needed. It seems to be more a COD4X item with my IP address. I've had a bunch of storms and resets from Spectrum so I may have a new or slightly different IP address compared to a couple days ago. I could try to use the VPN and connect to another USA server, which would give me a different IP address test that theory. Thoughts?

You are exempted for VPN use, so you should be able to connect using the original VPN IP that you were using.

Unfortunately, the IP is auto assigned and I don't control that. Without the VPN, the normal way I play, my IP is 45.37.253.199 as provided via DHCP/Spectrum. I did try connecting with a different IP via the VPN in a local city (Charlotte, NC) but that returned the same error. So I'm guessing it may not be an IP address issue since it doesn't connect either way, with or without the VPN. Are there other items that would make that error? If so, I can check those settings...

It's not the IP. We're looking in to it. I have informed the right people. For now try using without the VPN. The ban system is aggressive to keep the bad actors at bay. I appreciate your patience and understanding.
