Hi all,

Sad news for me. I tried to fix my RAID0 drives, but failed on me.

Lost everything I had of my last 5+ years and including ; tax papers(scanned and all), logins of gouvernment info. Rankings, some CRY files(duh!), installed games, contact info and oh well I can curse, be mad or cry but hey.. reminder; Stuff you don't won't want to lose:

BACKup THE SHIT up.. somewhere else or buy a drive to handle that. My drive(s) are new and couldn't compete against drives I have.

Piece and hopefully back to ranking/gaming or the downloads :)

Yep not looking good. No idea what's going on and not even on stock settings. Just that I don't have a drive laying arround as one drive failed to install or the mouse pointer is breaking up over and over.

I do my best :)

Data is lost for now.

Just make sure you create a RAID 1 or 5 when you rebuild.

Raid 5 is nice because if you loose one drive you can swap it out and it will repair its self.

I set servers up this way

Most with SAS drives, fast as hell too

You need 3 Hard drives tho

I do SO agree with that. Just that the drives are cheap, like 50euro's a piece(if you have the money, but wont restore now), I wish I stopped challenging when all was running. But also.. I knew I couldn't update any drivers and HAL was detroyed and should known better.

Humm,

sorry for the data loss...

I'd say that one 120gb SSD drive is a lot faster that a RAID array and is better for a boot drive/main partition. I agree that it's darn expensive compared to regular drives tho...

You can still run a RAID array on top of that for storage!

Well I don't give up yet. The data is to be that much of a value that I have to work on that to see what can be saved.

Thanks for the help guys and WiZiD thanks again. Hopefully when I combine some tools like you have shared Raid reconstructor.

And yes...SSD's are quicker, but look at my speed which wasn't bad:  just the access time.

Yes, looks good.

Basically, it's just the lack of "protection" and the data spread of RAID 0 over two drives that is a little concerning. It always been a good solution for speed.

What about RAID 0+1? It might double the amount of HDDs, but it mirrors your fast RAID 0 array to another set of drives...

Bout to give up... the payment of programs is like.. way out of budget.

One I send this email that fuckers:

Hello,

Google for some programs and lose jobs.

I am already pissed of to lose data and losing family pictures of whom arent there anymore.

Will use alternative programs, but this is without respect.

You guys are making fun right. 79dollars for the program and $299 to solve it?

I will spread my word about this so called service.

Dear Ray,

Do you want to initiate a RAIDProbe: http://www.runtime.org/raidprobe.htm? In this case you would have to go to our order page first, order the RAIDProbe service first and will be provided with an upload link for your file.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Ute Becker
