That was the decade of my childhood and though life in the UK was somewhat different to that in North America (the only time I saw burgers was when the fun fair visited Hampstead Heath!), I still rate the music as among the best ever written and performed. On a serious note, the 1960s were not only the years when old traditions and values were thrown out and the young gained a voice, but also when the rot began to set in. Future historians may chart the decline of western civilisation from that decade. Awards
