GTX 580 , great.

i hope your psu is good enough , you need a minimum of a 600 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 42 Amps.).

Nice card, I had 2 of them(SLI) in my PC, They blew up...guess the 350 watt power suppy and the 24 volt +12 amp rail wasnt enough?

Joke, they say in the coming weeks that the GTX600 series cards should be released, thus dropping the price on the GTX500 series, thats what im waiting on. I have 2 9800GT in SLI, so I cant wait to upgrade,

Thats the one I owe since a few moths, the slightly overclocked version  Black Ops by EVGA....  Its E X C E L L E NT, running smooth, really excellent FPS with antialias at 4: fullscreen 1600 x 1250, with screenrefresh at 120 Hz:

Black Ops 125 to 200

COd 4  250 to 350

CoD 5  160 to 300

Flewless Crysis 2 in ultimate Video mode, and fullscreen Directx  11.....

Be sure to put the maxfps value higher than the standard 80....

Running two of these in SLI with a 350 watts powersupply  was a little suicidal Moe ....

E X C E L L E N T   choice, just love that card.

With all due respect 7toes,

That GTX580 is a  "too much" for your rig....that dual-core CPU will bottleneck the card (the card won't stretch it's legs)...

None of my business, but unless you plan on upgrading your CPU/RAM/motherboard in the next little while, you'll never get the feel of 100% of your 580. That being said, a GTX560Ti ($230), a GTX570 ($300) or a Radeon HD6950 ($260) might be more "balanced"...that would save you $200. You wouldn't see any differences between a mid-range card and a high-end card with the CPU you got now...

My Friendly opinion.....

MOFO is 100% correct about the bottleneck on your cpu, I wouldn't get a 580 unless you are planning/saving for a new rig.  If that is the case and your going to upgrade I would spend 100 bucks more and get the 3gb ram(2x as much as the card in your link) version from EVGA. The egg has it too, and it also was an ar model with lifetime warranty.  If you ever go 2 or 3d surround you'll want that extra v-ram!!!!!   If just going to get a card for now with no further upgrades I would save some cash and just get a 560ti or a 570.  Either of those cards should max all games right now at single monitor resolutions.(excluding metro 2033 and bf3 )  DAMN NICE CARD THOUGH MAN, making my 470's jealous, but I want the 3gb model to boost 2d surround performance.

I was looking at the GTX 580 when i recently built my new rig but decided on the cheaper GTX 570,And with a little overclocking the 570 is within touching distance of the 580 which is why it got my vote. Also as Mofo says the cpu might be holding you back there,i would say at least a quad or even hex core to get the most benefit from the gpu.
