Hey Cat. Tell me the video card that you have. one cause could be that the card ramps up and pulls more power than the power supply can deliver. I think the one i put in that computer is a 500 watt. That should be enough but some of the newer video cards are pretty power hungry. If you want to skype me any time we can try to figure this out. Just let me know. ill be searching for other solutions till i hear from you.

Ultra Overclock Edition Radeon HD 7770 , windows 7 64 bit power supply is 650 watts

I don't even get to play it for 20 mins, lol in reply to the fix above, I go in the game and within a couple of mins, monitor goes to sleep and the sound loops. I have to hold the button in to shut the pc down. Other games are played on this pc. I let my daughter play some of hers. She plays dishonored and skyrim which are both fairly new games with no problems, I play cod2, cod4 and waw and have no problems . I can't figure out why left for dead 2 is the only one that it does it to.

Even on the High performance power plan the monitor is still set to hibernate after 20 minutes. Go to Control Panel->Power Options' date=' click Change plan settings, and change Turn off the display: to Never. The hard drive is also set to turn off after 20 minutes of inactivity, though this should not occur while gaming. This setting is in advanced power settings. [/quote']

yes even way back to win95 days

Kat

run a stress test on your system.... doing that will tell us if its power supply or heat.

This worked for this guy

I have had mine set this way for years. The thought that sleeping saves power is a myth. I always found that when it was asleep it was very difficult to wake!

try verifying the game cache in games/right click on l4d2/propeties/verify game cache

then open console and put this (you can try after verifying see if that fixed it) and wait it takes about 15 mins

snd_rebuildaudiocache;snd_updateaudiocache;exit
