I am in the process of making a sig for myself as I have a certain thing in mind but not sure which program is best for this process. I need your imput and keep in mind I want to use one already in Windows 7 as I don't want to spend any money for it right now. Also tell me how you use the said program to make your sigs! Thank you for your good information and help!

You can get a cracked version of buy Photoshop from Adobe ThePirateBay using BitTorrent or another Torrent downloader.

There are other free programs online you can use like Aviary but most of them attach their own watermark usually.

Just keep in mind to have max resolution of your sig at 600pixels wide by 250pixels high.

There are plenty of photoshop tutorials that make it an easy step by step process, if you need help with something specific feel free to msg and I'll try to help.

EDIT: My apologies, was not aware of the piracy policy on the boards. PAY FOR YOUR STUFF PEOPLES! ;)

to animate an image you make layers and have them display one after an other to make the animation just like flipping cards

Few ways to animate. I use frame animation. Best way to learn is by watching a few YouTube videos that give step by step instructions. Of course the first thing you will need is an idea of what you want to do and have your signature laid out how you want it. Otherwise you will end up with a mess trying to make a sig and animate it at the same time. Second thing you need is patience. (oh and you will want to learn a little about the program your using and make stand still pictures before you get all crazy with motion)

The way i animate sigs is to use After Effects to make an image sequence of whatever, say a film clip and then import the sequence into a image editing suite like Gimp, which is a free photoshop alternative for the non-pirates..
