I just got home from putting my baby down. Why do some get to chose what happens to others? Life does not seem fair sometimes.

I will miss you Patty. Sleep well my baby.

She was my baby. She was havin kiddney failure and lost the soul from her eyes. It was a long 2 weeks to think about it. But I had to make a choice. One of the hardest I've ever made.

Gorilla,

I'm with you brother. It is a really tough time when you deal with the loss of your friend. I lost my BEAR last year and it was tough. He was the best dog I ever had.

You may not be interested, but I did something like this for Bear. It was not expensive and very nice for his final resting place.

(this is not my store.. just something I found that was a nice memorial) You email a picture, and they email a proof back for your review before they laser engrave it.

Take care bro.

reminds me of my old dog Buddy, who we had when we lived on farm land about 12 years ago in cape breaton. One day took off and did not come home for a few days, then when it did come home it had a snare around it's neck and his eyes were buldging out and all red, so we got him all well again and he went off one day and was shot by a hunter that fet that shooting my dog was better then it scaring off any moose or deer.. The sad thing is the whole litter ened up dead within a year, due to being hit by tansport trucks and hunters.

So I am truely sorry you had to make part with your friend.

He looks so loyal in that pic with you.

Gorilla, be plased that at least you could put her down peacefully which is more than we can do for ourselves.

I too lost a good friend in early December, the loss hurts to talk about.

Got me tearing up posting this. I still can't watch this video all the way through.

Edit: I should also add that I now have a new puppy who has found a place in our hearts and softened the blow. No new dog ever replaces an old friend but they do carve a new place in your heart all of their own.

Hugs to you Gorilla!  It is so hard to do the right thing for your pets.  We had to put down our dog "Buster" a couple years ago...he was the greatest! It was only a couple months after I had lost my mother so I reallly didn't take it well...still brings tears to my eyes.

They are the best friends a person can ever have...and you doing what you could to ease her suffering was the kindest and most selfless thing a person can do!

Bama...what a wonderful idea!  Buster is up on our hill overlooking our house... I think a marke like that would be a beautiful memorium for him at his resting place!

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. It was the hardest choice I think any decent person can make. She was my best friend and my baby girl even though she wes so old. I know that it was better for her. May not be better for me now. But in this time seeing as many of you don't know I lost my job last month just before I left for Germany. But this to I must get through with a good outlook and take those steps forward. She isn't at my side anymore but will always be with me in my heart.

I know you are suffering right now we all do when we have a loss. The one thing that has worked for me is getting another pet not to replace the one that just passed but to regain that love that is lost. I know some say its too soon i thought like that also on the first time. i have had pets my whole life and have done this very thing after every pet has passed. It has worked for me it just seems like there souls live on in other pets.

You are not working now what better time to raise a pup.
