There is another thread on headsets, but it is old and I want updated info before I buy a new set.  I am looking at 3 different sets headphones.  Which of you have these and would you buy them again?  Also, USB or analog?  I do NOT have a sound card.  My sound is currently on board.  I have analog Creative Fatality right now, and I really do not hear things around me that well....especially people creeping up behind me.  That is the main reason I am looking to get new cans.

Anyway, I am looking at these 3:

  1. SteelSeries Siberia v2 for $60    http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B003N636VI/ref=pd_cp_e_0
  2. HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset   $65  http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-H3CLW/dp/B00KX3TLF4/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8
  3. Good old Logitech G35 - $90   http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-7-1-Channel-Surround-Sound-Headset/dp/B001O5CCQK/ref=pd_sim_e_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1PPR6GMMFV0KC3GEDXEF

Any advice would be appreciated.  You can voter above if you like.   I think that any of these would be good.  I think I am leaning toward the Logitech, but the HyperX look good and I know a lot of you swear by the SteelSeries.

Thanks!!

G-35 here also, this is my 2nd set, warning my 1st set lasted about 2 years, then the plastic at the base of the head band cracked and I've noticed the same with these,so I reinforced these with some tape, other than that they are great, for me that is.

Go for the Razer Kraken, i had a G35 same as Johnny and mine snapped at one of the ears too, the plastic is too flimsy apart from that it was a decent headset.

@devildogg4355  I am not sure what you mean here.  Are you saying that you would buy these again, or that you would never own another set of them?

@devildogg4355  this has 3.5 mm plugs on it.  Do you have a sound card or do you use onboard sound?  The Logitech has a USB, so they have their own processor and I would not need a sound card.  I don't plan to get one.  Would these still work as well as the USB headphones??  And do you have a sound card??

I wouldn't touch anything that didn't have a USB m8, too much hassle with Pink and Green plugs.

Every Logitech headset I have ever had regardless what I paid for them have always broken in some way or another, Granted I am hard on them but like was said before the more expensive ones the plastic breaks on them and I have had many different ones. All brands have their flaws and weaknesses but some seem to work better for different folks. I have a broken G930, and 430 and to many to count. At the present I have a Corsair 1500 and it has good quality sound and has been pretty durable but it has a problem that when I accidentally mute it on the cord it mutes in as a setting so to unmute it I have to open up the sound and select mic then levels to unmute it. Why? I have no freaking reason that I know of! So do your homework and you just may find the right ones for you!
