I saw a Harley yesterday hit a little bump in the highway (probably big for him). He started wobbling like crazy. I hit the brakes since he was in front of me in the next lane. I thought for sure he was going pavement surfing. He kept it together though. It sure woke me up! Gunny and hxtr 2 Awards

I bought a 2008 ultra classic last week and i pick it up tomorrow. Not this particular bike but exactly like in this picture, the same color and all. I was excited because its my first harley, but now you put a bit of a sharp edge on my excitement. Edited March 18, 2015 by KingStinger! hxtr, Gunny and Leadfinger 3 Awards

Aint the max speed you can drive in Canada just under 40km? You should be fine.

I did exactly the same thing Bart. I had a 1974 Honda CB 750 when I was 20 years old (1980). A friend and I were going across the Richmond San Rafael bridge on the north end of San Francisco bay at 2 in the morning and decided to race. The bridge is 5.5 miles of straight and flat highway and it was completely empty. I bottomed the spedo out at just over 120 and it started to wobble. I backed off and pulled over. I sold the bike a couple weeks later and haven't owned a bike since. Leadfinger and Blackbart 2 Awards

It's not solely a Harley Davidson issue, this is an issue with many popular big name motorcycles, Hondas Suzuki Kawasaki. This only made news because a police officer died because of it. Motorcycles are dangerous no matter what. An incompetent driver on a shady bike will likely not have a great experience. And experienced driver on a solid bike can have issues as well but less likely. After my research it's not just Harley Davidson, that makes me feel a lot better Edited March 19, 2015 by KingStinger! Harleys are not the only bikes potentially affected and, as the wiki says, there are various factors that can cause this effect. If one suffers constipation, experiencing the phenomenon will cure it... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_wobble Awards
