Then I get my new motherboard and cpu and ram but as i'm in the middle of buying those upgrades my SATA 7,200 RPM HHD starts acting up, sectors going bad, ECC stops correcting errors my asus pc-68 wireless adapter starts throwing out 4-5 errors a minute in Event Viewer causing even more shit and getting blue screens left and right, so I can't even download or even de-fragment my hhd without bluescreening in the middle of what i'm doing. To the point where if I bluescreen in the middle of a match on CoD4 and then restart my computer I will have to re-install Cod4 just to be able to play on the server I bsod on. Then Razer black widow has finally seen it's demise after 3 years of service everything started to go belly up, and before you start knocking the brand, they are amazing and will never switch to anything else. It only started fucking up because my friend spilled syrup in the fucking keys somehow so that happened, now I'm using a 3.99 keyboard that sucks absolute donkey dick. Then I have to get a new monitor because it's also five years old and while it is a nice Dell ST2010 LCD 20' in it's not nearly where it needs to be for gaming. Then to top it off, I've been waiting since Feb 26 for my god damn tax return because H & R block has been cock suckers and throwing me through hoop after hoop for a fuck up on their part. Other than that I'm pretty happy but since Cod4 is literally the only game I have been able to install before my computer bluescreens it's getting annoying, and to the points I have to write this shit in note pad and save every once and a while just incase it happens azzkikr and USMale 2 Awards

Slowly upgrading an old rig and mixing new with old parts always generates unexpected problems and hardware failures. The best way to build a custom rig is to wait until you can afford the whole thing, buy all the parts at once, build it in one day, and be done with it. Builds have always gone smoother for me when I do that. Anything more than swapping in a more powerful GPU is a high risk for complications. Mule, BUDMAN, Cylon and 1 other 4

I'm waiting for a good deal atm to get the 250gb evo 850 to dual boot linux on. It was my first SSD and I'm never looking back. They are simply incredible. The issue was the devastating flood in Thailand. It crippled WD's production (as most of WD's production was in Thailand) and Seagate took advantage in that time frame. However majority of parts production was also in Thailand and got impacted as well. So Seagate ended up using marginal parts which is now resulting in failures and returns. Having worked in disk drive industry, my advice would be to never but the top of the line in terms of space. Try to get the family which does not go all the way to the top in terms of space. They squeeze out space by essentially increasing TPI (Tracks per Inch). Not much revolutions happening in the HDD industry so you have to think that TPI increase will have a cost (Reliability). eidolonFIRE 1 Awards

Now, the first thought that comes to mind is that its too small. Oh how times change. yep! You miss the days of the 2lb 2GB gyroscope drives? lol. I don't. 500GB is pretty much a minimum for a gaming rig. It's enough for a little lossless music, a few games, and some editing programs. 250GB should be fine for my linux development platform though. My projects don't take up that much space. At work I'm using the ubunu-gnome distro but replaced the wm with Awesome. I plan on replicating the setup at home. Awesome really is awesome btw. It's so much better than i3 imho.

Earlier I set it so my page file was on a secondary hdd but it caused boot problems several times. So right now I just let it do its thing automatically. Fortunately I was able to put cod4 on the hdd so as not to take up 50gb or more on the ssd. Lot of maps certainly but development needs a great deal of space also. Awards

I think it may be my graphics card but I don't know. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is what i'm getting. I've re-seated it just in case it was something stupid but now it's the waiting game.
