I un-installed my COD2 and also deleted ALL folders related to it. I've done this several times before, with no problems....well I go to re-install and the install page comes up, and when I hit install....I got a error saying "unable to perform command...can not find library: MSVCP80.dll"                    it ask to ensure it is installed
Does anybody have suggestions or any advice...? It would be grateful!

Well I finally got COD2. Had to wipe dust off of the case though. Loaded it in. Did the 1.3 update and tried to get on area 51 server and it came up with an error Hunk_Allocate Temp Memory: failed on 1398173 bytes (total 160MB,low1MB,High158MB)need 316893more hunk bytes.

WTF does that mean. LOL  Fix his shit first, it was his post.

Cancel the auto-run and try browsing the cd and run the .exe from there. If the error comes back up,keep hitting the install button til it installs. If your running Windows Defender, disable before installing.

For Beers change this setting in your mp config file or in the game console to, seta com_hunkmegs"512"

If the above suggested fix doesn't work, I see this is a common problem for CoD and CoD: UO.  Having Googled the problem, I found the following in another forum suggesting a fix for the earlier game:

"Go into your Call of Duty\Main folder, and look for a file called config.cfg

Open that in Wordpad or Notepad and search for a line that says seta com_hunkMegs. It should say seta com_hunkMegs "128" so try increasing that value and allocating more RAM to the game."

If CoD2 is similarly set up, it could work for you too perhaps?

Have you updated or installed following:

Micromedia flash (important)

Dotnetfx

DX9 updates (even in vista/win7)

Videocard drivers (for nvidia please use google which is the best reviewed)

Motherboard drivers (update BIOS).

If not, do so and might runner smoother anyways :)

okay so heres the deal... the hunk megs problem is a fucking bitch!!! i changed the map rotation completely on dm server because i couldnt figure out what map caused the error.... so to fix this area 51 needs to be updated to new rotation on dm server... i dont know who does the maps for area 51 but i know rugger mostly does it... so if he can hook me up with password for 51 i will fix that fucking error....

now back to the original post.... whiteboy first off why the fuck did you uninstall your cod2???? did you reformat???? if u were just trying to clean your maps and mods their are much easier ways..... most likely im assuming you didnt reformat and have some malware.... registery or even a hardware problem.... so reformat....  and try again....
