brand doesnt matter, as long as the ram you get is compatible with your mobo. it looks like 4 gigs is your max, if you arent upgrading your motherboard anytime soon i recommend getting 3 more of 1g

looks like your socket type is a little outdated. Look for a phenom cpu that supports AM2+/AM2

With the last BIOS is here the list of CPU support and those are VERY cheap second handed ones. As far as memory is whats been said above, but I can not find mem support list overview yet.

Fastest what I see quick is a 6000+ but it didn't impress me and changed to Intel and sended the stuff back :) (motherboard and cpu).

brand doesnt matter at all as long as you have the same amount of gigs in both banks of memory.

i dont agree with what been said here

ram brands maybe dont matter, but u need same kind of ram, not only Mhz, but volts.

so its really better if u stay with the exact same ram in both slots.

when u say AMD ram, there is no ram made by AMD. Is this the same as yours ?

but OCZ have a model called AMDOCZ_AMD_Black_Edition.png

if yes just get the same, OCZ is good enough. if u really need more ram.

but u have 2G its not like u need a lot more just for cod.

maybe a better cpu, yea, but then u'll have to change your mobo too.

i have that amd 6000+, served me well for 4 years, but im gona get an i7 anytime soon.

That is correct about the memory. The timings sould be the same for both sticks. When ever I buy ram its always a matched set. It may work at first but bound to give you a head ake later.

Agree with WiZiD and CHKN on this one. They should be matched pairs and it will work much better. Like Wiz said, you might get by for a while if they aren't matched but you will have trouble sooner or later.

With all respect sorry that I have to correct that.

Before my Patriot 8Gb came in(Dread style!) I was running for over 2 years with different brands. Not only that the cas Latencies were different and voltages they needed.

See I had

2x Crucial CT12864AA80E(db9)  at 800Mhz and voltages needed was: 1.8 Volts at 5-5-5-12

2x Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4 G at 800 Mhz and voltages needed was : 2.1 Volts at 4-4-4-12

See those were my QVL Memory supported sticks I was using and at my computer BIOS I gave them : 5-5-5-18 at 1.9 Volts. First boot and testing it was 'memtest' past(several open) and no problem after 24hrs running.

Just remember and I dont want to go a way back in the past: Socket A motherboard you could switch from 100/133 to 133/133 if the CPU and the memory supported 133Mhz. Just my 2 cents :)

With respect and an example of my Patriot and check voltages section:

yes it can work, we dont say it wont, but anyway, getting the same ram on different slots is better.

its like a car with different tires on the left than on the right, yes it can work, but sometimes a bad tire can get u in dangerous situations.
